THREE TO SEE

Kavika Tua, running back

Had a huge sophomore season with 1,354 total yards and 21 touchdowns.

Christopher Laie, defensive line

His 7 sacks and 3 forced fumbles as a junior led to offers
from Idaho, Hawaii, and Wyoming.

Trejan Apodaca, defensive back/wide receiver

A two-way player for the Pirates, returned all 3 of his interceptions for touchdowns last season.

OUTLOOK

Oceanside lost quarterback Kyrin Beachem to graduation, but return several important offensive players that should keep the ball moving in 2019.

The Pirates should have one of the best rushing attacks in San Diego with 6 of 7 leading rushers returning, led by Tua.

The Pirates allowed 29 points per game last season and will need to improve on that dramatically this season in order to make a deep playoff run.
