Scorebook Live California’s Connor Morrissette makes his LA City Section football picks every Thursday during the high school football season. He takes a shot at predicting Week 5 games below.

Narbonne vs. Lawndale

Lawndale had trouble with Crenshaw last week which doesn't bode well for the Cardinals.

The pick: Narbonne

Cleveland vs. San Pedro

Joshua Ward and the rest of his San Pedro teammates have had two weeks to prepare for Cleveland's double wing offense. They're ready for the run.

The pick: San Pedro

San Fernando vs. Reseda

Reseda hasn't beaten San Fernando in six years and although the Regents are coming off of a big win against Canoga Park, I struggle to see a path to victory for them. Losing Dranel Rhodes for the game after he was called for targeting last week doesn't help Reseda's cause.

The pick: San Fernando

Banning vs. Elsinore

Two weeks ago Banning beat down Westchester 42-7. The Pilots need to continue their hot streak to maintain their top four LA City CalPrep ranking. Elsinore and Banning have similar CalPrep rankings, so on paper this should be a close game. Banning's sense of urgency will help, especially with Marine League play beginning next week where every game will be a dogfight.

The pick: Banning

Bell vs. Garfield

Garfield has dominated the Eastern League in recent years and this season will be no different.

The pick: Garfield

Adelanto vs. Carson

0-5 Carson lost starting quarterback Ui Ale to an ankle injury last week. He'll miss the rest of the year. Without him, I struggle to see how the Colts put up enough points to match Adelanto star running back Marshawn Buchanan. It's important to note that Buchanan has been battling a shoulder injury this year, but has been playing.

The pick: Adelanto

Marquez vs. Fremont

Marquez puts its undefeated record on the line against Fremont on the road Friday. QB Erick Salas and Marquez's multiple running backs have been impossible to stop this season.

The pick: Marquez

Manual Arts vs. Jefferson

Both teams are 4-1, but Jefferson has played a much tougher schedule.

The pick: Jefferson

Gardena vs. Inglewood

Both Gardena and Inglewood are undefeated. And both teams haven't been tested yet. That ends Friday. Inglewood has been doing a little talking.

Gardena has been quietly going about their business. I'm sure they've seen the video and they won't be happy.

The pick: Gardena

Overall record: 26-11
