Notable Results

Mission Hills entered the week unranked but had the opportunity to make a big statement when they hosted Oceanside on Friday. The Grizzlies made the most of it as they took down No. 6 Oceanside, 27-0. Mission Hills' defense held Oceanside to 163 total yards including holding star running back Kavika Tua to 76 yards, the first time he’s been held under 100 yards this season. Mission Hills quarterback Jackson Oksnee threw for 2 touchdowns and ran in another.

Helix performed as expected on Friday when they knocked
around El Capitan 65-14 in their Grossmont – Hills League opener. The
Highlanders ran only 28 offensive plays and scored via rushing touchdown,
receiving touchdown, fumble return, interception return, and kickoff return.
They got a scare in the 2nd quarter when star running back Elelyon
Noa went down with an ankle injury. It’s unclear when he’ll next play for the
Highlanders, but they’ll need his services to achieve their open division
dreams.
