Monterey Trail, the No. 5 seed, will advance to the D-I section championship game next week against No. 2 seed Oak Ridge. Folsom was the two-time defending section champion and had won seven of the last nine section titles.
In the Division II playoffs, Elk Grove beat Cosumnes Oaks 28-20 and will play the winner of Jesuit-Whitney in the championship game.
In Division III, No. 4 Manteca upset No. 1 Capital Christian 20-14 and No. 2 Placer beat No. 3 Buhach Colony 21-20.
