Bishop Amat's 2020-21 high school football schedule includes home game vs. St. John Bosco
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the CIF has pushed back the California high school football season to January. Most sections are now scheduled to start practice in December and play games starting in early January.

2019 RECORD: 9-2. Bishop Amat won the Mission League and then lost to Mater Dei 63-23 in the first round of the Division 1 Southern Section playoffs.
2021 SCHEDULE ANALYSIS: Amat has an opportunity for a fast start, but will also face a major challenge in St. John Bosco two weeks before Mission League play begins. What's so critical for Bishop Amat is that last year's starting quarterback, Tobin O'Dell, will be back for his junior season. In a football season that will be filled with uncertainty, returning the starting QB is huge.
The Lancers' five non-league games will prepare Steve Hagerty's team for a rigorous Mission League slate. Expect Amat to win or be competitive in every game this season.
CAN'T MISS CONTEST: Week 4 at home against St. John Bosco. Last year's Braves' QB, DJ Uiagalelei, has graduated and enrolled at Clemson. Would-be Bosco senior wide receiver Beaux Collins will graduate in December and miss his final high school season. There is no doubt St. John Bosco will still be one of the top teams in the country, but the January season means they won't be as strong as they would be in a normal year.
Bishop Amat has been eliminated in the playoffs by a Trinity League team in two of the last three seasons. Could this be the year they get revenge?
TRAP GAME: Week 2 at Westlake. Quarterback Jaden Jones has transferred from Oxnard to Westlake and if he's eligible, he'll likely be the top QB Amat faces in the non-league part of their schedule.
Texas A&M commit Victory Vaka, a defensive lineman, will be playing his senior year for the Warriors. Westlake may have gone 2-9 a year ago, but they were competitive in many of those defeats while playing one of the toughest schedules in the region. This won't be a cakewalk for Amat.
PREDICTION: 8-2
