Scorebook Live California's Connor Morrissette makes his LA City Section football picks every Thursday during the high school football season. He takes a shot at predicting Week One games below. The selected games are based on the Scorebook Live California City Section Top 10 rankings.

1. Narbonne vs. Lone Peak (UT)

The pick: Narbonne

The Gauchos looked great against Buchanan and will win again Saturday against Lone Peak at Moorpark High. Good luck stopping running backs Tomarion Harden and Jack Brown.

2. Birmingham @ Crespi

The pick: Birmingham

Both teams annihilated their week one opponents, but on paper the Patriots are the better team.

3. Garfield @ Serra Gardena

The pick: Serra

Garfield is good but Serra is better. The Cavaliers have too many weapons at the skill positions.

4. San Pedro vs. Eagle Rock

The pick: San Pedro

Joshua Ward rushed for two scores in a 25-0 win over North Torrance last week. He's the player Eagle Rock must stop.

5. Venice @ Harvard-Westlake

The pick: Venice

Luca Diamont and Everson Bozeman each rushed for over 100 yards in Venice's 26-10 win over El Camino Real last week. Look for similar production against Harvard-Westlake.

6. San Fernando vs. Canyon

The pick: San Fernando

San Fernando beat Canyon last season and they'll do it again in 2019.

7. Banning vs. St. Paul

The pick: St. Paul

St. Paul running back Trenell Ridgley is tough to stop.

8. Carson vs. Edison

The pick: Edison

Things don't get any easier for Carson following last week's last second loss to Millikan.

9. Fairfax vs. Sylmar

The pick: Fairfax

The Lions started 2019 with a 10-6 win over Dorsey. They should move to 2-0.

10. Crenshaw @ Upland

The pick: Upland

Similar to the Garfield vs. Serra matchup, Upland is on a different level compared to Crenshaw.
