Scorebook Live California’s Connor Morrissette makes his LA City Section football picks every Thursday during the high school football season. He takes a shot at predicting Week 7 games below.

Dorsey vs. Locke

It looks like 1-5 Dorsey is in a lost season. Locke won a D2 section title a year ago and crushed Fremont 37-2 last week. They're a team on the rise, led by Ja'Quez Harvey.

The pick: Locke

Palisades vs. Venice

The winner of this one is in the driver's seat to win the Western League. Duke quarterback commit Luca Diamont leads Venice, with all-city linebacker Sy Riley leading Palisades. This one may very well come down to the final possession in the fourth quarter.

The pick: Palisades

Gardena vs. Carson

Gardena is having a good year and Carson isn't, but the Marine League is as tough of a league as you'll find in the City Section. Gardena lost 51-7 to Banning last week. They'll suffer a similar fate against Carson.

The pick: Carson

San Pedro vs. Banning

This might be the toughest one to pick of the group. The game will feature two stud running backs in San Pedro's Josh Ward and Banning's Jakob Galloway. I have to pick a side, but fair warning, this is the game I feel the least confident about.

The pick: San Pedro

Granada Hills vs. El Camino Real

El Camino Real is #23 in the CalPreps City rankings. Granada Hills is #25; this will be close. Elco QB Matthew Abajian is a playmaker, so I'm going with the Conquistadors at home.

The pick: El Camino Real

Fairfax vs. Westchester

Westchester played Palisades tight in a 28-20 loss last week. The Comets have a great defense and if they stop the run this week they should win. I think they can.

The pick: Westchester

Overall record: 38-14
