COVINGTON, GA -- There was no stopping Jacob Wilkins and the Grayson Rams Thursday night.

Behind several ferocious dunks, Wilkins scored 21 points to lead the Rams to a 76-60 win over Newton, ending their regular season with an impressive 23-2 record.

"Jacob has been playing good ball for us this semester," Grayson head coach Geoffrey Pierce said. "He's so athletic and we want him to be athletic. He's been doing a good job and I was happy to see him have a good game."

Grayson and Newton have a lot of history.

Last month, Grayson survived a scare from Newton in overtime. But on Thursday night, it was a much different story.

The Rams used a 24-point second quarter to take a commanding 37-21 lead into the break, and they never looked back.

Ahmad Clark had a great game for the Rams off of the bench scoring 12 while Gicarri Harris and CJ Hyland both scored 10 in the win, respectively.

"We thought (Newton) was the more physical team the first time around, so we just had to up our level of physicality," Pierce said. "I thought we did a good job with that for the most part tonight. That's a good team. They're ranked Top 10 for a reason. We're just happy to come out of here with a win."

Grayson will now gear up for the Region 4-7A tournament where they will enter as the No. 1 seed. Newton will enter as the No. 2 seed, likely setting up a third meeting between these two Georgia powers in a just a few days.
