Blake Aalbers, MOC-Floyd Valley football

The junior was 21-for-29 for 341 passing yards and three touchdowns in a 28-14 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton. One of the scoring passes went to Ahman Langton, who had six catches for 140 yards.

Tanner Anderson, Western Dubuque football

The junior QB completed 10 of 11 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns, each to a different receiver. The Bobcats, ranked No. 6 by SBLive, moved to 5-1.

Brock Badding, Kuemper Catholic football

The sophomore QB passed for five touchdowns, completing 9 of 12 passes for 188 yards in the Knights’ 61-7 beatdown of Des Moines Christian.

Bailey Boeve, Hinton volleyball

The sophomore had 5.3 kills and nine blocks in a 2-1 victory over Sioux City North and 5.3 kills and six blocks in a 3-0 win over Akron-Westfield for the Blackhawks, who improve to 16-1-1 on the season. Boeve leads the state in solo blocks with 63.

Jaylon Brooks, Urbandale football

The junior running back led the J-Hawks to a convincing 52-0 victory over Des Moines East by racking up 275 yards and four touchdowns.

Austin Baumhover, Van Meter football

Baumhover passed for 184 yards and four touchdowns while adding 39 rushing yards and two more TDs for the No. 6 Bulldogs in a 70-0 thrashing of Chariton. Baumhover threw just seven passes, completing six.

Ra’Shawd Davis, West Des Moines Dowling football

The junior standout rushed for 197 yards on 32 carries, scoring three touchdowns for the No. 2 Maroons in a 30-17 win over No. 4 Ankeny Centennial.

Aiden Flora, ADM football

The senior quarterback scored five touchdowns as the No. 16 Tigers strolled to a 63-8 win over Des Moines North. Flora had 169 rushing yards on seven carries and scored three times and passed for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Max Froeschle, Central DeWitt boys golf

The sophomore shot a blistering round of 68 to claim the MAC Conference championship at Midland Golf Club.

Jamarius Gibbs-Green, Fort Dodge football

The junior running back racked up 204 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Dodgers to a 49-14 win over Storm Lake.

Colin Gordon, Grundy Center football

Gordon, a senior, passed for 215 yards and five touchdowns as the No. 24 Spartans remained unbeaten with a 42-14 win over South Hardin. Gordon was 8-for-10 and three of the TD passes went to Tiernan Vokes.

Kishiv Gupta, Johnston golf

The senior shared medalist honors at CiML Conference Tournament with a round of 70 at Jester Park.

Brennan Hayes, Creston football

The senior has six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 122 yards and another score in the seventh-ranked and unbeaten Panthers’ 39-0 shutout of Atlantic.

Dakota Johnson, Decorah football

Johnson rushed for 246 yards on 16 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 78, 74, 45 and 4 yards – all in the second half – as the Vikings rallied from a 17-7 halftime deficit to down Waverly-Shell Rock 26-20.

Jackson Kepley, Ames boys golf

The sophomore carded a 72 to earn medalist honors at the IAC Conference Tournament at Blank Golf Course.

Garrett Luett, Underwood football

The sophomore QB passed for 260 yards and three touchdowns, including 123 yards and a TD pass to Josh Ravlin in the Eagles’ 49-0 win over Treynor.

Alex Manske, Algona football

The junior quarterback had a big night in a 29-28 heartbreaking loss to Clear Lake. Manske passed for 255 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns.

E.J. Miller, Independence football

The junior quarterback passed for 198 yards and three touchdowns – completing 14 of 22 – and tacked on 67 rushing yards on 15 carries as the Mustangs improved to 5-1 with a 19-14 victory over Dubuque Wahlert.

Dylan Muszynski, Linn-Mar football

The junior wingback, who missed the last two games because of an ankle injury, rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries in a 35-9 win over Muscatine. Muszysnki also caught two passes for 33 yards.

The sophomore shared medalist honors at CiML Conference Tournament with a round of 70 at Jester Park.

Will Nuss, Johnston football

The junior QB passed for 246 yards and four touchdowns, including two TD strikes to Jacob Simpson in a 38-35 loss to defending Class 5A state champion Southeast Polk.

Brody Patlan, Council Bluffs Lewis Central football

The junior rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries as the No. 14 Titans rolled to a 63-13 win over Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.

Jadyn Petersen, Dike-New Hartford volleyball

The UNI commit had a team-high 13 digs as the Wolverines improved to a perfect 29-0 with a straight set victory over a good Denver team.

C.J. Phillip, Southeast Polk football

The senior carried 22 times for 139 yards and three touchdowns as the top-ranked Rams outscored Johnston, 38-35. Iowa State commit Connor Moberly passed for 209 yards and a score for 6-0 Southeast Polk.

Neal Pinter, Denver boys cross country

The senior turned in a time of 16:14.12 to hold off Wapsie Valley’s Aidan Shannon and 145 runners to win the Jesup meet.

Preston Ries, Monticello football

The future Iowa Hawkeye racked up 336 yards and four rushing touchdowns and also passed for 178 yards and two scores in Monticello’s 56-14 rout of Camanche.

McKenna Sivers, Newell-Fonda volleyball

The senior is serving at a state-best 99 percent efficiency. She had 21 assists and 15 digs in a 3-0 sweep over Northwest Webster and 19 assists in a 3-0 win over Storm Lake St. Mary’s

Gavin Thomas, Aplington-Parkersburg football

The senior passed for 248 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 85 yards and two more scores in the Falcons’ 41-18 win over Central Springs. Ries leads Class 2A with 26 touchdowns.

Maria Trotta, Cedar Rapids Kennedy girls swimming

The senior claimed two golds in Kennedy’s Cougar Invitational, winning the 50 freestyle in 24.81 and the 100 free in 54.50.

Jake Van Etten, North Linn football

Van Etten was in on four touchdowns, leading the Lynx to a 42-0 win over Clayton Ridge. He completed 10 of 19 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 58 yards and two more scores.

Reece Vander Zee, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock football

The senior and Iowa recruit rushed for 254 yards on 17 carries and scored twice, while completing 6 of 8 passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. The eighth-ranked Lions chalked up their sixth win without a loss, 39-12, over Orange City Unity Christian.

Kaden Van Regenmorter, Hull Western Christian football

The junior passed for 171 yards and four touchdowns, leading the 5-1
Wolfpack to a 38-14 victory over Sheldon. Western’s Tyler Mantel rushed for a score, caught a TD pass and had an interception.

Brent Yonkovic, West Delware football

Yonkovic rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 101 yards in a 41-0 shutout of Center Point-Urbana.

Derrek Weisskopf, Williamsburg football

The University of Iowa recruit took over at quarterback after an injury to starter Kellen Cockrell and threw three touchdown passes after hauling in the opening TD pass of the contest. Weisskopf also returned an interception 77 yards for a score in the fifth-ranked Raiders’ 56-14 win over Fairfield.

Meghan Wheatley, North Linn Troy Mills

The senior ran away from the 239-runner field at Jesup with a winning time of 18:10.59.

Brett White, Solon football

The senior linebacker accumulated 16.5 tackles, including five for loss and 1.5 sacks, while also recovering a fumble in the No. 25 Spartans’ 16-13 victory over Benton.
