Bailey Birmingham, Norwalk girls basketball
The 5-9 junior guard finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Class 4A ninth-ranked Warriors in a 51-41 win over Oskaloosa. Norwalk closed the regular season with a 17-4 mark.
Bailey Boeve, Hinton girls basketball
Boeve, a 6-foot sophomore, made all 11 of her shots and scored 22 points for the Class 3A 10th-ranked Blackhawks in a 65-34 victory over Akron-Westfield. Boeve made it a double-double with 10 rebounds and also blocked five shots.
Kennedy Brant, Gladbrook-Reinbeck girls basketball
The sophomore had 21 points, 13 rebounds and five steals as the Rebels opened Class 1A regional play with a 75-35 victory over Nashua-Plainfield.
Mya Bunkers, Remsen St. Mary’s girls basketball
The senior posted a rare triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as the Class 1A third-ranked Hawks rolled to a 67-31 win over Trinity Christian to remain unbeaten.
Jayden Calabro, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson boys basketball
The 5-8 senior guard erupted for 51 points, leading the Yellow Jackets to a 78-51 win over Omaha Northwest. Calabro was 15 of 33 from the field and 14 of 19 from the free throw line, nailing seven 3-pointers.
Max Chapman, Creston boys wrestling
The senior heavyweight has been on a roll, pinning his last eight opponents –seven in the first period. He will be making his second trip to state.
Ryan Clair, East Sac County boys basketball
Clair, a sophomore, finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Raiders closed the regular season at 17-4 with a 75-54 win over MVAOCOU. Clair missed just twice in 12 shot attempts.
Cyrus Courtney, Cedar Rapids Kennedy boys basketball
The senior scored a career-high 26 points as the Class 4A top-ranked Cougars beat second-ranked Iowa City West, 71-57. Courtney made 11 of 15 shots, including 3 of 4 3-pointers, leading unbeaten Kennedy to its 38th straight regular-season win.
Camden Davis, Hudson boys basketball
Davis scored 22 points for the Class 2A second-ranked Pirates in an 84-57 win over Union. The senior hit 8 of 12 shots and added eight rebounds as Hudson won its 20th game of the season.
Sydney Doeschoet, Kingsley-Pierson/River Valley girls basketball
The sophomore had 27 points and three assists for the Panthers in a 66-58 win over West Monon. Doeschoet made 12 of her 16 shots from the field.
Ava Eastlick, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont girls basketball
The junior hit 10 of 13 shots en route to a 24-point effort for the Class 2A fifth-ranked Rockets in an 80-30 rout of Cardinal. The Rockets ended the regular season with a 20-1 record.
Katelyn Eggena, Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball
The senior posted a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds as the G-Hawks, ranked second in Class 2A, stayed unbeaten at 21-0 with a 66-52 win over Decorah.
Drew Eilers, Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys basketball
The junior had a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Rebels in a 77-50 win over Colo-NESCO. Eilers was 8-for-11 from the field and grabbed six offensive rebounds.
Libby Fandel, Cedar Rapids Xavier girls basketball
The junior standout registered 28 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals for the Saints in a 59-29 victory over Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
Makayla Farnam, Davenport North girls basketball
The senior scored a team-high 24 points for the powerful Wildcats in a 79-45 win over North Scott. Farnam was 10 of 14 from the floor.
Alex Flattery, Sioux City East boys basketball
The senior had 19 points, 12 rebounds and three assists for the Class 5A 11th-ranked Black Raiders in a 79-17 rout of Sioux City North. Flattery was 8 of 11 from the field and nine of her rebounds were offensive.
Carter Gruver, Woodbine boys basketball
The junior joined the 1,000-point club with 22 points, helping the 19-2 Tigers down Council Bluffs St. Albert, 66-52. Gruver also handed out six assists.
Lindsey Haken, George-Little Rock girls basketball
The sophomore had 24 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, leading the Class 1A No. 15 Mustangs to a 65-27 win over MMCRU. Haken grabbed nine offensive rebounds and handed out three assists.
Luke Hellige, Holy Trinity Catholic boys basketball
Hellige, a 6-4 junior guard, poured in 45 points for the Crusaders in a 107-46 win over Highland. Hellige was 18-for-27 from the field (six 3-pointers) and completed a double-double with 12 rebounds.
Daniel Herrera, Ames boys wrestling
The heavyweight, who won two golds in California before moving to Iowa, earned three technical falls. The future Iowa State Cyclone scored 19 points in all three of his matches to improve to 14-0 on the year.
Brayden Hoben, Grand View Christian boys basketball
The sophomore posted a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Thunder to a 72-67 win over Grundy Center, ranked 10th in Class 2A. Hoben nailed six 3-pointers.
Erica Houge, Collins-Maxwell girls basketball
Houge scored 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, leading the 17-5 Spartans to a 52-48 win over IKM-Manning in a Class 1A regional opener. Houge made 9 of 12 free throws.
Makenzie Hughes, Akron-Westfield girls basketball
Hughes, a junior, eclipsed 1,000 points for her career with a 27-point effort in the Westerners’ 57-14 rout of Whiting to open Class 1A regional play.
Rowan Jacobi, Springville boys basketball
The sophomore had 26 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Orioles opened Class 1A regional play with a an 81-16 rout of Prince of Peace. Jacobi hit 13 of 18 shots and also had four assists.
Billie Kindred, Keota boys basketball
The junior hauled in 18 rebounds to complete a double-double as the unbeaten and sixth-ranked (Class 1A) Eagles soared to a 75-23 victory over Sigourney-Keota. Kindred scored 14 points and also handed our six assists.
Brody Lager, Missouri Valley boys basketball
The senior scored 30 points and snared 12 rebounds, becoming his school’s all-time leading scorer in the process. Lager made five 3-pointers and tacked on four steals in his final home game.
Nate Lampe, Newton boys basketball
The senior scored 24 points for the Cardinals in a 60-47 victory over a 17-win Clarke squad. Lampe hit 9 of 13 shots, including five 3-pointers.
Callie Levin, Solon girls basketball
The senior and Iowa recruit had 24 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists as the Class 3A fourth-ranked Spartans closed the regular season with a 71-20 waltz past Independence.
Owen Larsen, Estherville-Lincoln Central boys basketball
Larsen, the leading scorer in the state with a 28.7 average, had 23 points, 11 assists and nine steals in a 97-64 win over Pocahontas Area.
Alec Lovely, Treynor boys basketball
Lovely, a sophomore, scored 26 points for the Class 2A No. 7 Cardinals in an 84-56 victory over Harlan. Lovely hit 9 of 13 shots, including five 3-pointers, as Treynor ended the regular season at 18-4.
Eli Menke, Lake Mills boys basketball
The senior popped in 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting, leading the Class 1A fourth-ranked Bulldogs to a 101-51 trouncing of Mason City Newman. Lake Mills closed the regular season with a 20-1 record.
Jack Miller, Jesup boys basketball
The senior scored 27 points, leading the J-Hawks to a 76-64 triumph over Waukon. Miller is the fourth-leading scorer in Class 2A with a 26.1 average.
Morgan Miller, Iowa City Regina girls basketball
The junior contributed 23 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals for the Regals, ranked seventh in Class 2A, in a 73-28 victory over Wilton.
Rylee Mudderman, Kee girls basketball
Mudderman, a freshman, had 28 points, seven steals and five rebounds for the Hawks as they opened Class 1A regional play with a 64-28 win over Starmont. Sophomore Addison Winters had a double-double for the 17-5 Hawks.
Dawson Nelson, Nodaway Valley boys basketball
The senior poured in 44 points, helping the Wolverines clip Interstate 35, 66-64. Nelson was 17-for-30 from the field, made all 10 of his free throws and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Landon Osberg, West Central Valley boys basketball
The senior fired in 31 points, leading the Wildcats to a 59-46 win over Colfax-Mingo. Osberg added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Jaxon Paulsrud, Cherokee boys basketball
The sophomore fell just shy of a triple-double in the Braves’ 87-51 victory over Alta-Aurelia. Paulsrud finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. And, if that wasn’t enough, he added seven steals.
Payton Petersen, Dike-New Hartford girls basketball
The senior scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds for the two-time defending Class 2A state champion Wolverines in a 65-23 win over Sumner-Fredericksburg. Petersen added six steals as D-NH closed the regular season at 20-2.
Ty Pflughaupt, North Linn boys basketball
The senior charted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Class 1A top-ranked Lynx (19-1) to a 70-59 win over Dunkerton (17-4). Pflughaupt hit 9 of 14 shots and also handed out three assists.
Bryer Putman, Wilton boys basketball
Putman, a 6-foot-5 freshman, had 22 points and 21 rebounds as the Beavers beat Camanche, 83-72. Putman added four assists, three blocks and three steals.
Preston Ries, Monticello boys basketball
The senior Iowa football recruit totaled 36 points and seven rebounds for the Class 2A ninth-ranked Panthers in a 77-64 win over Goose Lake Northeast. Ries made 11 of 14 shot (5 of 8 3-pointers) and 9 of 10 free throws as Monticello closed the regular season at 18-2.
Harrison Rhone, Colfax-Mingo boys basketball
The junior fired in 32 points in an 85-41 win over Twin Cedars. Rhone was 13-for-23 from the field with four 3-pointers and tacked on seven steals, three rebounds snd two assists.
Dreshaun Ross, Fort Dodge boys wrestling
The defending state champ was extremely impressive for the Dodgers. The sophomore scored falls in 33 seconds and 2:42 before earning a technical fall in the finals at 215 pounds.
Erica Rust, Harlan girls basketball
The senior posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Class 3A sixth-ranked Cyclones in a 54-36 victory over Atlantic. Harlan finished the regular season at 17-3.
Lucy Scott, Lewis Central girls basketball
The senior tossed in 21 points, leading the Class 4A ninth-ranked Titans to a 61-34 win over Creston. Scott splashed five 3-pointers in the win.
Hayden Schwab, Don Bosco boys wrestling
The freshman Schwab dominated his two opponents to move to 34-0 at 106 pounds.
Mason Smith, Chariton boys basketball
The senior tossed in 30 points, leading the Chargers to a 92-76 win over Mormon Trail. Smith hit 13 of 18 shots, adding five steals, three rebounds and three assists.
Dylan Stecker, Spirit Lake boys basketball
The senior scored 26 points and raked down 17 rebounds, leading the Indians past Emmetsburg, 61-57. Spirit Lake outscored 17-win E’burg, 18-8, in the fourth quarter.
Aili Tanke, Johnston girls basketball
The senior had 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals as the top-ranked Dragons downed Southeast Polk, 73-37 in a regular-season finale. Johnston is unbeaten in 21 contests.
Addison Wadle, Melcher-Dallas girls basketball
The senior contributed 26 points and seven assists, leading the 18-3 Saints to a 68-20 romp past Moulton-Udell in a Class 1A regional opener.
Hudson Wilmes, Winterset boys basketball
The senior hit for 30 points in a 77-64 victory over Ballard. Wilmes made 9 of 15 shots and 10 of 12 free throws, while also grabbing six rebounds.
Rylee Yager, Estherville-Lincoln Central girls basketball
The junior had 20 points, 14 rebounds and six steals for the Class 3A top-ranked Midgets in a 64-56 victory over Newell-Fonda, ranked second in Class 1A. Yager made 9 of 13 shots and had nine offensive rebounds.
Ava Zediker, West Des Moines Dowling
The junior standout had 22 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Class 5A third-ranked Maroons past Urbandale, 80-36. Zediker, who hit 10 of 14 shots, also dished out six assists.
