Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 4-9 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, December 18th and the winner will be announced next week. If you would like to nominate an athlete, please email the name and a brief description of his performance, with stats if available, to gary@scorebooklive.com.

Here are this week's nominees:

Tjay Beckles, Overlea: The senior guard poured in 40 points in Overlea’s 84-53 victory over Kenwood.

Jack Bonner, Marriotts Ridge: The senior guard had 24 points in Marriotts Ridge’s 58-55 victory over Reservoir.

James Crimaudo, South River: The senior forward/guard finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds in South River’s 70-49 victory over Annapolis.

Jordan Horn, Paint Branch: The senior forward posted 30 points and a school-record 24 rebounds in Paint Branch’s 81-58 victory over Watkins Mill.

Zamar Jones, Meade: The senior guard finished with 22 points as Meade defeated Glen Burnie, 68-55.

Ashton Meeks, DeMatha: The sophomore guard finished with 23 points and four assists in DeMatha’s 75-51 victory over Archbishop Wood (Pa.) at the National Hoops Festival showcase in Hyattsville, Md.

Xavier Oree, South Hagerstown: Oree, a sophomore, finished with 28 points, nine assists, six rebounds and five assists in South Hagerstown’s 79-15 season-opening victory over Clear Spring.

Darrion Parris, Aberdeen: The senior guard had 16 points in Aberdeen’s 63-60 win over Fallston and 27 points in a 73-61 win over Kenwood.

Taj Smith, Wootton: The senior guard had 22 points and seven rebounds as Wootton defeated Richard Montgomery, 73-66.

Malik Washington, Archbishop Spalding: The junior forward finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds as Spalding defeated Gilman, 58-46.
