Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 25-30 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 7th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.

Here are this week's nominees:

RJ Barnes, Long Reach: The senior forward totaled 55 points in two games at the Bogle Holiday Tournament at Glen Burnie, scoring 31 points in a 85-50 win over Joppatowne and 24 points in a 53-52 victory over Broadneck.

Ty Bevins, Gwynn Park: The senior guard who will play for George Washington University next season, had 28 points in Gwynn Park’s 72-60 win over Gilman at the Governor’s Challenge.

Tyrell Bowles, Charles H. Flowers: Bowles finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds in Flowers’ 55-51 victory over Winston Churchill, and 23 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots in a 68-47 win over Central Bucks East (Pa.) at the Challenge

Aiden Evans, Indian Creek: Evans finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Eagles’ 86-64 victory over Kent County, and 31 points and nine rebounds in a 76-57 victory over Saints Peter & Paul at the Governor’s Challenge.

Brendan Johnson, Calvert Hall: The senior guard who’s committed to Merrimack College had 32 points and eight assists in the Cardinals’ 66-62 victory over Potomac School (Va.) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Dreden Lake, Colonel Richardson: Lake finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds as Colonel Richardson defeated Indian River (Del.) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Keandre Nixon, Snow Hill: The guard eclipsed the 1,000-point career scoring mark, finishing with 19 points in Snow Hill’s 84-48 win over Laurel (Del.) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Pierce Vasquez, Salisbury School: Vasquez posted 34 points and 16 rebounds in Salisbury’s 79-45 victory over H.D. Woodson (D.C.) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Cam Ward, Largo: The junior forward had 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in Largo’s 49-45 victory over Hayfield (Va.) at the Governor’s Challenge, and 25 points and 12 boards in a 68-41 win over Constitution (Pa.).
