Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 25-30 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 7th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.

Here are this week's nominees:

Ava Arruda, Chesapeake-Anne Arundel: Arruda posted 17 points as Chesapeake defeated Northern-Calvert at the All About the Girls Holiday tournament.

Harli Hammett, Century: Hammett scored 22 points as Century defeated Poolesville, 58-29, at the Williamsport Holiday Tournament.

Bailey Harris, St. Mary’s: The sophomore forward finished with 22 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Potomac School (Va.), and 19 in a 64-43 win over Linganore at the Governor’s Challenge.

Kara Hoover, Clear Spring: The freshman totaled 22 points and 20 assists as Clear Spring defeated Bishop Walsh and Berkeley Springs (West Va.).

Fanta Minteh, Broadfording Christian: Minteh had 21 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in Broadfording’s victory over Northern-Garrett.

Jaelyn Peters, Mount Hebron: Peters finished with 16 points as Mount Hebron won the Thomas Johnson Tournament title with a 47-44 victory over Smithsburg.

Allison Swift, Stephen Decatur: Swift had 12 points and 10 rebounds in Stephen Decatur’s 53-12 victory over Laurel (Del.) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Bailey Walden, St. Mary’s: The senior gaurd totaled 43 points in victories over Potomac School (Va.) and Linganore (24) at the Governor’s Challenge.

Sylar Woodyard, South River: Woodyard finished with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals as South River defeated Kent Island, 54-32, at the Governor’s Challenge.

Ava Wooster, Southern: The senior finished with 18 points and seven rebounds as Southern won the Hyde Holiday Tournament title at Queen Anne’s with a 56-38 victory over Thomas Stone.
