Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 1-6 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 14th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.

Here are this week's nominees:

Tyler Boston, Bullis: The senior guard, bound to Holy Cross, finished with 22 points, four assists and three rebounds in Bullis’ 60-56 victory over Sidwell Friends (D.C.) at the IAC/MAC Challenge.

James Crimaudo, South River: Crimando had 20 points and 11 rebounds as South River defeated Meade, 60-53.

Matt Foley, Eastern Tech: Foley finished with 23 points as Eastern Tech defeated Patapsco, 75-56.

Caleb Franze, Gerstell Academy: Franze posted 24 points and six assists in Gerstell’s 56-44 victory over Friends, and finished with 29 in a 55-46 win over Chapelgate Christian.

Dylan Hodgson, Linganore: Hodgson had 19 points and 15 rebounds in Linganore’s 72-54 victory over Tuscarora.

Mason Johnson, Urbana: Johnson finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in Urbana’s 66-48 victory over South Hagerstown.

Francis Mannino, Landon School: The junior forward posted 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in Landon’s 57-56 victory over St. Andrew’s Episcopal at the IAC/MAC Challenge.

Junior Nunez, Long Reach: Nunez finished with 30 points in Long Reach’s 78-52 victory over Reservoir.

Drew Pape, Patterson Mill: The senior scored 30 points in the Huskies’ 64-54 victory over Havre de Grace.

Akbar Waheed, Georgetown Prep: Waheed had 18 points, six rebounds and three steals in Georgetown Prep’s 70-61 victory over Maret (D.C.) at the IAC/MAC Challenge.
