Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 1-6 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 14th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.

Here are this week's nominees:

Myah Hazelton, Sparrows Point: The Virginia Tech University signee had 24 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots in Sparrows Point’s 45-43 victory over Chesapeake-Baltimore County, and 30 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in a 56-31 win over Perry Hall.

Talia Jenkins, Middletown: Jenkins posted 33 points and seven rebounds in Middletown’s 75-43 win over Clear Spring.

Senai Knox, Havre de Grace: The senior finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds in Havre de Grace’s 36-31 victory over Bel Air.

Lauren Kraft, Hereford: The senior forward who will play for Catholic next season, scored 24 points in Hereford’s 61-36 victory over Milford Mill.

Skyla Mastronardi, Smithsburg: Mastronardi posted a triple-double - 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals - as Smithsburg defeated Clear Spring, 69-38.

Ofundem Mbelem, Indian Creek: Mbelem finished with a double-double - 20 points and 14 rebounds - as Indian Creek defeated Friends School.

Avery Miller, Allegany: Miller had 22 points, 18 rebounds and six steals in Allegany’s 50-35 victory over Northern-Garrett.

Malinda Morgan, Indian Creek: Morgan finished with a game-high 25 points in Indian Creek’s 95-33 victory over Friends.

Ceonta Wilmore, Williamsport: The junior finished with a game-high 29 points in Williamsport’s 36-23 victory over Boonsboro, and 19 points and five rebounds in a 34-19 win over Walkersville.

Sophie Zirkin, Park School: Zirkin had 27 points in Park’s 56-19 win over Annapolis Area Christian School.
