Trey McGinnis, St. Joseph High School

Senior sprinter Trey McGinnis was electric on the track for St. Joseph at the SMAC Championships on Saturday. 

McGinnis took first place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.52, marking a new personal record and setting the second fastest time in Michigan this year in that event among the men’s division, first place in the 200m run with a time of 21.11, marking another personal record and setting the fastest time in that event in the state this year among the men’s division. 

McGinnis also contributed to a second place finish in the 4x200 relay.

Brendan Herger, Northville High School

Junior runner Brendan Herger had a good performance for Northville on Saturday at the KLAA Conference Championships. 

Herger finished first place in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.74, marking a personal record and the fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the men’s division, and first place in the 1600m run.

Benne Anderson, Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills

Senior runner Benne Anderson had a good performance at the OK Gold Conference Championships. 

Anderson took first place in the 800m run with a time of 1:59.84, and first place in the 1600m run with a time of 4:01.60, marking a personal record and the fastest time in that event in the state among the men’s division.

Demarcus Rouse, Rochester Adams High School

Senior Demarcus Rouse showed out on the track for Rochester Adams at the OAA Red-White Championships on Friday. 

Rouse finished first place in the 400m run with a time of 47.75, marking a personal record and the fastest time in the state this year in the event among the men’s division. 

Rouse also contributed to first place finishes in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Joshua Hurt, East Kentwood High School

Senior Joshua Hurt was stellar on the track at the OK Red Conference Meet. Hurt took first place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.03, marking a personal best and the fastest time in the event in Michigan this year among the men’s division. 

Hurt also finished first place in the 300m hurdles, and contributed to a third place finish in 4x200, and a second place in 4x400 relay.

Lailah Palmer, Beverly Hills Groves

Senior Lailah Palmer had a good performance for Beverly Hills Groves at the OAA Blue-Gold Championships. 

Palmer finished in first place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.33, marking a personal record, and first place in the 200m run with a time of 25.07, marking another personal record and the sixth fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the women’s division. 

Palmer also contributed to a third place finish in the 4x100 relay.

Elizabeth Anderson, New Boston Huron

Senior Elizabeth Anderson helped New Boston Huron in a big way on Saturday at the 2023 Metro Classic. 

Anderson took first place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.38, first place in the 200m run with a time of 25.17, marking the seventh fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the women’s division, and first place in the 400m run with a time of 56.97, marking the fourth fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the women’s division. 

Anderson also contributed to a second place finish in the 4x400 relay.

Anna Delgado, East Lansing High School

Senior Anna Delgado had a good performance for East Lansing at the Davison Twilight Classic. 

Delgado took first place in the 1600m run with a time of 4:54.35, marking a personal record and the fourth fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the women’s division, and first place in the 3200m run with a time of 10:42.89.

Nonah Waldron, Oak Park High School

Senior Nonah Waldron had herself a performance at the OAA Blue-Gold Championships. 

Waldron finished first place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.54, marking a personal record and the fastest time in that event in Michigan this year among the women’s division, and first place in the 300m hurdles, marking another personal record and the fastest time this year in Michigan in that event among the women’s division.

Rachel Forsyth, Ann Arbor Pioneer

Junior Rachel Forsyth had a great performance at the SEC Red Championships. 

Forsyth finished first place in the 400m run with a time of 56.71, marking a personal record, and first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.47. Forsyth also contributed to first place finishes in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
