Baseball

Carter Gwost, Little Falls

The sophomore went 3-for-3 with a triple, a homer and two runs scored in an 11-0 rout of Willmar on April 24. He’s 7-for-7 to start the season and is the only player in the state with a perfect batting average.

Evan Nelson, Hastings

The junior hit his second home run of the season and added a double to finish with four RBIs and two runs scored in a 10-3 win over Mahtomedi, April 24. His two home runs are tied for the most in Minnesota.

Samuel George, New Life Academy

The senior starting pitcher struck out 13 batters over five innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits and two walks. He also had a walk and a run scored in the win on April 24. His 27 strikeouts are second-most in the state.

Jack Meyers, Cannon Falls

The Bombers’ starter allowed just one hit over seven innings pitched in a 6-0 shutout at Kasson-Mantorville on April 24. His three wins this season are tied for second-most in Minnesota.

Mason Leimbek, Rochester Mayo

The senior committed to UW-Lacrosse went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in a 10-7 win at Winona on April 20, had a single and a double with another RBI and run scored in a 4-2 win over Edina on April 22, and was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in a 14-1 rout of Red Wing on April 24. He leads the state with 12 hits on the season.

Softball

Samantha Hansen, New Life Academy

The senior went 4-for-4 with two doubles, six RBIs and two runs scored in an 11-9 win over Minneapolis Roosevelt, April 24. She’s one of six batters in the state with a perfect batting average this season.

Megan Smith, Minneapolis Southwest

The junior hit three homers and a single, driving in eight runs and scoring three herself in a 22-3 drubbing of Minneapolis Washburn on April 19. She’s second in the state in home runs.

Eleanor Rolf, West Lutheran

On April 19, she went 2-for-3 with a homer, four RBIs, and three runs scored in a 18-1 victory over North Lakes. On April 24, she drove in two runs and scored three times in a 10-0 shutout of Fridley-Heights. Her 11 RBIs has her tied for the most in Minnesota.

Laney Weis, Southland

The eighth grader pitched seven shutout innings allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out 12 in an 8-0 win at Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland, April 24. Her six wins are second-most in the state, and her 60 strikeouts ranks third.

Brenna Koeppel, St. Charles

In three games, all complete game shutouts, she pitched 19 innings, allowed just five hits and two walks while striking out 18. Her seven wins are the most in Minnesota.

Track & Field

Andrew Casey, Lakeville North

The senior won the 1,600-meter race at the Farmington Boys and Girls Meet on April 18 with a time of 4:16.50. That’s the fastest time in the state to date.

Noah Breker, Robbinsdale Armstrong

The senior won the 3,200-meter race at the Osseo Invitational, April 20, with a time of 9:05.31.

Jordyn Borsch, Maple Grove

The senior won the 100-meter dash (12.42 seconds), 200-meter dash (25.02), and 400-meter dash (56.06) at the Rogers Triangular on April 18.

Madeline Kaufman, Eden Prairie

The junior tied the best mark for the girls’ pole vault with a personal best vault of 11 feet, eight inches in a dual with Buffalo on April 18.

Hannah Hanson, Rochester Mayo

The senior posted the second-best time in the 100-meter hurdles (15.06) and the fifth-best time in the 300-meter hurdles (47.62) at the Big 9 Triangular in Faribault on April 18.

Lacrosse

Sofia Watts, Cretin-Derham Hall

The junior scored 14 goals and assisted on five more over three games: a 16-5 win over Mahtomedi on April 24, a 15-5 win over Forest Lake on April 21, and a 9-8 loss to White Bear Lake on April 19. Her 22 goals are the most in Minnesota.

Uma Corniea, Edina

The senior goaltender had 15 saves on 21 shots faced in a 14-6 win at Eastview/Eagan, April 20. Her three wins are tied for second-most in the state.

Ella O’Hearn, Centennial

The senior midfielder had four goals and four assists in a 14-2 win at Anoka on April 19, and she scored three goals and had four more assists in a 17-3 rout of Spring Lake Park on April 24. Her 13 assists are tied for the most in Minnesota.

Linus Toward, Shakopee

The senior attackman had eight goals and two assists in a 21-1 win at Breck, April 21. His 19 goals scored leads the state.

Ricky Peterson, Maple Grove

The sophomore attackman had six goals and an assist in a 20-1 win over Osseo/Park Center on April 19. He followed that up with four goals in a 9-4 win at Blaine on April 24. His 17 goals scored are second-most in Minnesota.
