Congratulations to Puckett softball pitcher Ansley Allen for being voted SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for March 7-13!

The junior went 2-for-4 at the plate with two hits, including a home run and two RBIs. At the mound, Allen recorded eight strikeouts in the win against Pisgah.

Allen received 53.67% of the vote, beating out Kosciusko's Anna Grace Whitehead who finished second with 31.84%. Neshoba Central's Carly Keats finished third with 4.85% and West Marion's Olivia Miller finished fourth with 3.94%. There were over 128,000 votes tallied this week!

Marshall Phillips, Sumrall Baseball: The senior pitcher threw five innings with 10 strikeouts, one run, and two hits in a 5-1 win over Green County.

Kimani Hamilton, Clinton Boys Basketball: The MSU signee had 23 points and was named MVP in the Mississippi and Alabama All-Star Game.

Carly Keats, Neshoba Central Girls Basketball: Keats earned MVP honors by scoring 24 points to lead Mississippi in the All-Star game loss to Alabama.

Matt Adcock, Simpson Academy Baseball: The junior was 3-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam in a 5-1 win over Brookhaven Academy.

Hayden Langford, Ethel Baseball: The senior had a three-run home run and a walk-off single to propel Ethel past Neshoba Central, 9-8.

Anna Grace Whitehead, Kosciusko Softball: The sophomore went 3-for-4 with three hits, two home runs, and had 3 RBIs in a 5-6 loss to East Webster.

Olivia Miller, West Marion Softball: The junior went 4-for-4 at the plate with four hits, and also struck out three batters in a 7-2 win over Loyd Star.

Foster Palmer, Tupelo Christian Prep Baseball: The sophomore recorded four hits and three RBIs over two wins against Tremont to move to 2-0 in division play.

Brooklynn Montana, Gulfport Softball: The junior went 2-for-4 at the plate with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs in a 10-1 win over Vancleave.

Dzayviunna Peyton, Jefferson Davis County Softball: The 8th grader helped the Lady Jags get their first district win over OLA by going 3-for-3 at the plate and striking out 21 batters in seven innings. Peyton also led the Lady Jags at the plate by going 4-for-4 with two RBIs, and pitched five innings with 13 strikeouts in a 19-8 win over East Marion.
