It wasn’t until Friday afternoon that basketball fans in Seattle found out LeBron James would be visiting, but by the end of the night it was a party in the streets.

Hundreds of people filled the sidewalks outside Royal Broughham Pavilion, where NBA legend Jamal Crawford is scheduled to host “The Crawsover” Pro-Am on Saturday, in anticipation of James’ arrival.

Many fans pitched tents on the sidewalk to save their spot in line overnight. Some brought speakers to blast music (everybody knows no party is complete without tunes), and others brought a basketball to run a few pickup games.

The party raged late into the night, and the crowd only continued to grow. By sunrise Saturday, the line of campers that formed with a single fan Friday afternoon was stretched around the block.

As the venue's opening neared for a day of free basketball, fans ditched their tents and congregated outside the doors.

The main event, scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. EST, features James playing alongside a laundry list of NBA stars — many of whom have ties to Seattle.
