Every week during the 2020-2021 girls basketball season, SBLive will rank the Top 10 high school girls basketball teams in the state of Mississippi, regardless of classification.

Here are the SBLive Girls Basketball Power 10 rankings for Jan. 25, as compiled by SBLive Sports reporter Tyler Cleveland.

1. Olive Branch (14-1)

Last week: No. 2

The Conquistadors picked up the big win Tuesday night, beating then-No. 1 Meridian 66-55. The closed out the week with a 76-27 win over Lewisburg.

2. Meridian (13-1)

Last week: No. 1

The loss to Olive Branch was their first of the season, but the Wildcats bounced back with wins over Petal and Germantown.

3. Gulfport (18-1)

Last week: No. 3

The Admirals just kept things rolling last week, beating Greene County 65-24 and Harrison Central 63-51.

4. Columbus (8-2)

Last week: No. 4

The Falcons were idle last week. They return to action Tuesday night at home against West Point.

5. Tishomingo County (19-1)

Last week: No. 6

The Braves handled business against New Albany in a 57-45 win Tuesday, then ran their winning streak to 13 games with a 71-42 win over North Pontotoc.

6. Belmont (21-1)

Last week: No. 10

Another week, another couple of wins for Belmont, which ran its streak to seven games with home wins over Alcorn Central and Booneville.

7. Brandon (14-3)

Last week: No. 5

The Bulldogs picked up the 67-57 win over Pearl Friday night, but fell short in a rescheduled game against Northwest Rankin on Saturday, falling 60-57 in Flowood.

8. Laurel (10-1)

Last week: No. 7

The Tornadoes were off again last week due to COVID-19, but are scheduled to play four games this week. They’ll have to shake off the rust after a 14-day layoff.

9. Choctaw Central (14-3)

Last week: No. 8

The Warriors took care of business last week with workman-like victories over Kosciusko (73-34) and Louisville (63-42). They’re back in action Tuesday against West Lauderdale.

10. Neshoba Central (16-3)

Last week: No. 10

The Rockets took care of business at Canton and at home against Northeast Lauderdale, but Friday’s 45-42 win over Cleveland Central was the most impressive outing last week.
