THIS WEEK’S MASSACHUSETTS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Jack Holt, Belchertown Boys Soccer

Holt had the lone goal against Hampshire to lead the Orioles to the team's third straight Western Mass. crown.

Josie Cloutier, Greenfield Field Hockey

Cloutier had Greenfield's only goal to beat Smith Academy 1-0 for the Green Wave's fourth Western Mass. Class B Championship since 2016.

Tennessee Murphy, Monson Girls Soccer

Murphy scored four goals to lead the Mustangs to a victory over Lenox and secure the WMass Class D title.

Mia Corish, Belchertown Girls Soccer

Corish scored the winning goal with 35 seconds left to give Belchertown girls varsity their first win since 2013.

Miguel Borges, Marlborough RB

Borges rushed 9 times for 178 yards and three touchdowns in Marlborough’s 42-7 win over Westborough.

Sammy Doherty, Burlington WR

Doherty hauled in seven passes for 335 yards and four TDs in a loss to Stoneham.

Thomas Hirsh, Maynard RB

Hirsh carried the ball 19 times for 150 yards and a touchdown in Maynard’s 28-0 win over Sutton.

Bobby Humphrey, West Boylston RB

Humphrey rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns in West Boylston’s 40-12 win over Littleton.

Justin Falletti, David Prouty QB

Falletti threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead David Prouty to a 28-8 win over Southbridge.

Mack Gulla, Franklin RB

Gulla carried the ball 35 times for 200 yards in Franklin’s 13-3 win over Milford.

Nate Jette, Auburn

Jette had a 60-yard scoop-and-score fumble return in Auburn’s 28-21 win over Millbury.

Will Kelly, Dartmouth QB

Kelly threw three touchdown passes to lead Dartmouth to a 28-8 win over New Bedford.

Lucas Lambert, Oxford QB

Lambert, one of the top dual-threat QBs in the state, threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 104 yards and another TD to lead Oxford to a 36-7 win over Leicester.

Angelo LaRose, South RB

LaRose rushed for 310 yards and five touchdowns and returned a punt 50 yards for a TD in South’s 45-14 win over Clinton.

Ryan Marchand, Ayer-Shirley WR

Marchand caught three touchdown passes – 6, 25 and 37-yard grabs – in Ayer-Shirley’s 34-20 win over Murdock.

Cam Marshall, Ayer-Shirley RB

Marshall rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown in Ayer-Shirley’s 34-20 win over Murdock.

Owen Masterson, Marshfield QB

Masterson threw four touchdown passes to lead Marshfield to a 50-14 win over Plymouth North.

Griffin Metcalf, Leceister

Metcalf returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown for Leicester’s only points in a 36-7 loss to Oxford.

Colin Morley, Scituate RB

Morley rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown in Scituate’s 21-0 win over Plymouth South that clinched the Patriot League Fisher title.

Aaron Morris, Lowell RB

Morris carried the ball just eight times for 217 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-36 win over Dracut.

James Murphy, Reading QB

Murphy threw five touchdown passes to lead Reading to a 46-21 win over Lexington.

Quinn O’Brien, Hudson RB

O’Brien carried the ball 11 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns in Hudson’s 32-6 win over Groton-Dunstable.

Riley O’Connell, Lincoln-Sudbury QB

O’Connell threw four touchdown passes on just eight attempts to lead Lincoln-Sudbury to a 57-23 win over Waltham.

Ayden Pereira, Central Catholic QB

Pereira passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns to lead Central Catholic to a 38-21 win over Barnstable. 

Gabriel Pinon, Worcester Tech RB

Pinon carried the ball 10 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns to lead Worcester Tech to a 28-14 win over Bay Path.

Zak Ramos, Narragansett RB

Ramos carried the ball 11 times for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Gardner.

Sebastian Romain, St. John’s (Shrewsbury) RB

Romain carried the ball 25 times for 248 yards and a touchdown and added a receiving TD in a 35-28 win over St. John’s Prep.

Nathan Schultz, North Attleborough WR/DB

Schultz caught a 40-yard touchdown pass and returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown in their 42-7 win over Stoughton.

Derrick Shepherd, Quaboag QB

Shepherd had another big game, throwing for 287 yards and four touchdowns to lead unbeaten Quaboag to a 47-8 win over Bartlett.

Preston Zinter, Central Catholic TE

Zinter caught six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns in Central Catholic’s 38-21 win over Barnstable.
