KENNERSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA – The East Forsyth Eagles found the perfect ending to their perfect regular season, when they trounced arch-rival West Forsyth, 53-7.

The Eagles overpowered the Titans in the first half to put the game out of reach by spreading the ball all over the field on Senior Night.

East's hot start was ignited by running back Trenton Dozier, who punched in a two-yard touchdown run, to give the Eagles the first strike and an early, 6-0. West Forsyth had a quick counter punch, however, as the Titans' quarterback Bert Rice connected with receiver James Caldwell III on a deep throw, setting up a 13-yard touchdown run by Caman Chaplin. With the extra-point kick, the Titans suddenly held a 7-6 lead midway through the first quarter.

Unfortunately for the Titans that would be final blow they would land as East Forsyth rattled of the 47 points of the game to make a rout of things.

Dozier put his team in front for a good with his second TD rush of the night, this time from 19-yards as the Eagles claimed a 12-7 advantage at the end of one quarter.

Que'Sean Brown helped East Forsyth take full control in the second quarter as he hauled in a 29-yard TD catch and later broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown run. The Eagle defense and special teams also added one score each in the second quarter as cornerback Oshae Fernanders intercepted Rice for a pick six and Khristian Tyson recovered a fumbled kickoff and returned 20 yards to the end zone.

East Forsyth led 40-7 at the half.

“We're showing everybody the real East," said Brown. "We had a tough game last week, we started a little slow, but this game we got it running early."

Brown also appreciates his team’s work ethic.

“I wouldn’t say we have an advantage, we just work for everything," Brown added. "We work hard on and off the field, so that's what it is.”

Ole Miss commit Jahvontay Conner added a 6-yard touchdown run and running back Tavian Wolfe scored on a 2-yard burst, both in the third quarter, to cap the scoring.

Eagles head coach Todd Willert was satisfied with his team’s win and feels as if his team does not need that much motivation to have a deep playoff run.

“We don’t have to motivate these guys," said Willert. "They’re self motivators and that's what makes them so good. We have great leadership on this team, I’ve got a great coaching staff and when you have all of that, you don’t have to motivate very much."

East Forsyth finished the regular season 10-0 and won the outright title in the 4A Central Piedmont  Conference. The Eagles will host a playoff game next week and their opponent is to be determined.
