West Forsyth football holds first 7 on 7s of the summer

Eight teams from the Piedmont-Triad competed with the Titans on Saturday in Clemmons

CLEMMONS, NORTH CAROLINA--For those players, fans and coaches champing at the bit for the official start of football season in August, 7 on 7s offer a glimpse into what a team has to offer as the countdown to the start of practice begins.

West Forsyth and Coach Kevin Wallace held the first of a series of 7 on 7 on Saturday, with seven other teams from around the Piedmont-Triad showcasing their offenses and defenses in the controlled scrimmages.

Wallace is in his first season with the Titans after six years at Northwest Guilford.

7 on 7s can be especially helpful for coaches with new teams as their offensive systems gets implemented.

The scrimmages are also beneficial to teams with a host of new players who have moved up from the junior varsity ranks or have transferred from a different school so that they can get accustomed to their new environment.

Other teams that came to the first round of Saturday's scrimmages were East Forsyth, Northern Guilford, Forbush, North Forsyth, Trinity, Rockingham County and High Point Central.

West will hold another round of 7 on 7s on Wednesday with several different teams participating.
