Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Central North Carolina high school football defensive football player of the week for Nov. 6 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote in our poll. You may vote as often as you like. HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S NOMINEES

Chris Clark, Independence: Clard had a 40-yard fumble return for a touchdown in a 35-0 win over Lake Norman in the first round of the 4-A playoffs.

D.J. Jones, Mallard Creek: Jones finished with 15 tackles in a 41-7 win over Marvin Ridge.

Jaden Meeks, Chambers: Meeks recorded 10 tackles in a 45-20 win over Northwest Guilford in the first round of the 4-A playoffs.

Tyquan Rankin, Butler: Rankin had two interception returns for touchdowns and finished with 11 tackles in a 49-7 win over Alexander Central.

Elijah Edwards, East Forsyth: Edwards recorded eight tackles and had a fumble return for a touchdown in a 42-0 win over Page.

Jackson Forrest, Northwest Cabarrus: Forrest finished with 11 tackles and one tackle for loss in a 52-21 win over West Rowan.
