Vote: Who should be SBLive's Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week (2/19/2024)?

Winter sports are starting to wind down, and several athletes statewide continue to make an impression in those sports. 

Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12-18. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to nominate an athlete, email athleteoftheweek@scorebooklive.com or tag us on Twitter. 

Braci Nyberg/Kenly Gore, Seiling girls basketball

The defending Class A champion Lady Wildcats defeated Texhoma, 89-44, to win their Class A regional last weekend. Gore led the team with 22 points while Nyberg - who had 14 points in the first half - scored her 2,000th career point.

Jaden Henry, Oologah boys basketball

Henry sank a go-ahead 3-pointer in the closing seconds to lift the Mustangs to a dramatic 55-54 double-overtime win against Skiatook in the Class 4A district playoffs.

Makenna Yokley, Owasso girls basketball

On her Senior Night, Yokley scored a career-high 27 points and tied a single-game school record with six 3-pointers, part of a school-record 16 3's by the Lady Rams in an 82-19 win against U.S. Grant on Feb. 13.

Ja'Mon Valentine, Choctaw boys basketball

Valentine had 20 points - seven of those coming in overtime - as the Yellowjackets defeated Jenks to clinch the District 6A-4 championship.

Allison Heathcock, Edmond North girls basketball

Heathcock scored 19 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists as the Lady Huskies won on Senior Night, beating Edmond Santa Fe, 47-32, on Feb. 16. It also gave Heathcock her 100th career win as a starter, as she has gone 100-5 in her career at North.

Tyrone Beatty, Guthrie boys basketball

Beatty had a team-high 16 points as the Bluejays picked up their 20th win - part of a turnaround season - in the regular-season finale on Feb. 13, a 46-43 win against Crossings Christian.

Hadley Gibson, Cyril girls basketball

Gibson scored 21 points, including the 1,000th point in her career, to help the Lady Pirates to a 63-36 win against Cheyenne-Reydon in a Class A regional championship game.

Tyrin Tinajero, Broken Bow boys basketball

Tinajero led his team with 22 points as the Savages recorded a 57-44 win against Byng in the 4A district playoffs.

Chad Everett, Tuttle boys basketball

Everett turned in a 26-point performance, going 11-of-15 from the field along with converting all three of his 3-point attempts, in the Tigers' 67-60 win against Ada in the 4A district playoffs.

Riley Crane, Wister boys basketball

Crane hit a game-winning layup with two seconds left in overtime as the Wildcats - who trailed by 12 points at halftime - stormed back to edge Panama, 69-67, in the Class 2A district playoffs.

CJ Nickson, Weatherford boys basketball

Nickson had a team-high 18 points to lift the defending 4A runner-up Eagles past Woodward, 65-34, in the 4A district playoffs.

Braxton Mullins, Bethany boys basketball

Mullins scored 17 points and made five 3-pointers as the Bronchos opened 4A postseason play with a 53-23 district playoff win against Clinton.

Akiera Hawk, Pittsburg girls basketball

Hawk had a team-high 16 points as the Lady Panthers edged Kiowa, 43-42, to win a Class B regional tournament title.

Judah Gibson, Sequoyah-Claremore boys basketball

Gibson had 33 points in the Eagles' regular-season finale, a win against Oologah. Then this past weekend, he had 23 as Sequoyah defeated Berryhill in the 4A district playoffs.

Josie Megehee, Bethel girls basketball

Megehee ended her team's regular season with a 42-point performance against Christian Heritage. Then, in a win against Little Axe in the 3A districts, she went for 36 points.

Allie Rehl, Tuttle girls basketball

Rehl narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 23 points and nine rebounds, in the Lady Tigers' 56-28 win against Ada in the 4A districts. She also had four steals and was 8-of-10 from the field.

Jadyn Buttery, Tahlequah girls basketball

Buttery scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Lady Tigers clinched the District 5A-3 title on Feb. 13 with a 71-67 win at Tulsa Booker T. Washington. Tahlequah also moved its record to 22-1 entering postseason play.

Hailie Edmondson, Sperry girls basketball

Edmondson had a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds to go along with five assists in the Lady Pirates' 59-52 win against Kansas in the 3A district playoffs.

Jaiden Egger, Mannford boys basketball

Egger had 21 points and converted six 3-pointers in a 62-43 win against Cushing in the 4A district round.

Kate Davis, Choctaw girls basketball

Davis finished with 16 points as the Lady Jackets clinched a perfect regular season with a 53-35 win against Jenks on Feb. 13.

Jada Massey, Skiatook girls basketball

Massey had 15 points on five 3's to help lift the Lady Bulldogs past Oologah, 45-43, in the 4A district playoffs. Skiatook is enjoying its first winning season since 2016.

Jackie Beauchamp, Verdigris girls basketball

Beauchamp, a freshman, had 16 points as the Lady Cardinals posted a 54-34 win against Tulsa McLain in the 4A district playoffs.

Braeden Clinton, Riverfield Country Day boys basketball

Clinton combined for 32 points as Riverfield downed a pair of ranked teams to win its Class A regional tournament. Riverfield defeated No. 6 Stonewall, 60-52, and then edged 13th-ranked Liberty, 40-36.

Anistyn Garner, Preston girls basketball

Garner led her team with 20 points - 11 of those coming in the second quarter - as the Lady Pirates defeated Stroud, 47-35, in the 2A district playoffs.

Rickey Bruner III, Tulsa Booker T. Washington boys basketball

Bruner had a team-high 14 points on Feb. 13 to lift the Hornets past Tahlequah, 84-45, moving BTW to 20-1 on the season.

Trey George, Oklahoma City John Marshall boys basketball

George had 14 points and seven assists as Marshall defeated crosstown foe Southeast, 83-61, on Feb. 12. The victory also gave Marshall coach Patrick Cudjoe his 500th career win.

Addison Harris, Luther girls basketball

Harris scored 21 points and was a perfect 5-of-5 from 3-point range as the Lady Lions defeated Beggs, 71-36, in the 3A district playoffs.

Gracie Burckhartzmeyer, Wagoner girls basketball

Burckhartzmeyer had 15 points - 14 of those coming in the first quarter - as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Tulsa Hale, 60-8, in the 4A district playoffs. Wagoner also picked up its 20th win in the process.

Memphis Duffie, Cascia Hall boys basketball

Duffie, a freshman, scored 30 points as the Commandos defeated Adair, 67-53, in the 3A districts.

Rashaud Smith, Heritage Hall boys basketball

Smith had 22 points and added nine rebounds as the Chargers won their 3A districts, beating Star Spencer, 57-42.

Addi Alexander, Bristow girls basketball

Alexander had 28 points, along with five rebounds and five steals, to help the Lady Pirates to a hard-fought 59-57 win on the road at North Rock Creek in the 4A district playoffs.

Jack Starrett, Edmond North boys swimming

Starrett won the 200 freestyle (1:40.28) and was part of the gold-medal winning 200 freestyle relay (1:25.48) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.04) at the Class 6A state meet last weekend.

JD Thumann, Norman boys swimming

Thumann took a pair of first-place finishes at the 6A state meet, taking first in the 50 freestyle (20.15) and the 100 butterfly (47.86).

Reece Pangburn, Jenks boys swimming

Pangburn recorded a time of 57.62 to win the 100 breaststroke at the 6A state meet which was held at the Trojans' home pool. His performance also enabled Jenks to claim the 6A boys team title.

Avery Littlefield, Stillwater girls swimming

An LSU signee, Littlefield capped her high school career with two state titles at the 6A meet. She won the 50 freestyle (23.14) and 100 freestyle (50.46) events.

Addison Howze, Bartlesville girls swimming

A sophomore, Howze broke the state record in the 100 backstroke at the 6A state meet, finishing with a time of 54.76. Her performance helped the Lady Bruins win the girls team title.
