Luke is a two-time varsity letterman in football and a three-time varsity letterman in track and field at Astoria High School. He was named the Newcomer of the Year for his sophomore football season, earning a letterman’s jacket. He was named 1st team All-League as a running back for the 2021 season in which Luke played both offense and defense and rushed for more than 1,000 yards. Luke also earned the Astoria Golden Helmet/Best Back award for his 2021 season — the same award his father earned in 1991 and the only father/son duo on the placard since its start in 1969. Luke earned 1st team All-Conference in track and field for the 400m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay for the 2021 season. He also qualified for state and competed in the 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m events at Hayward Field for the 2022 season.
