Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for Dec. 12-18 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Astoria girls basketball

Astoria (5-1) won the Les Schwab South Coast tournament with a 51-43 victory over Philomath on Saturday. Astoria knocked off Crook County and host Marshfield in the earlier rounds.

Barlow girls basketball

Barlow (6-0) went on the road and notched a 68-42 win over Jefferson in an early-season top-10 clash Friday night. Annie Koenig led the Bruins with 19 points, while Rilyn Quirke scored 16. The Bruins opened the week with a 65-32 home win over Liberty.

Beaverton boys basketball

Beaverton (4-1) earned a 61-46 road win over Cleveland on Wednesday, followed by a 53-36 win over Sherwood at the Capitol City Classic in Salem on Friday.

Canby girls basketball

Canby (7-0) opened league play with a 63-44 win over Hood River Valley on Wednesday, followed by wins over Reynolds and Southridge to open the Nike Interstate Shootout over the weekend.

Canby wrestling

Canby won its host Larry Owings Invitational with 472 points — almost 300 ahead of runner-up Century. The Cougars crowned champions in half of the 14 weight classes.

Churchill boys basketball

Churchill (6-0) moved up a classification and picked up a 41-39 win at Sunset on Tuesday, followed by a 61-54 win at North Medford on Friday.

Clackamas girls basketball

Clackamas (2-0) knocked off top-ranked Beaverton on the road 42-38 on Wednesday night. Rhyan Mogel led the Cavaliers with 13 points, while Avery Peterson added 10. “It allowed us to prepare for a big game and execute a game plan,” Clackamas coach Korey Landolt said. “It was a great opportunity for the girls to grow together — they had to work hard as a team to hold off Beaverton.”

Forest Grove wrestling

Forest Grove defeated Tigard 54-24 in the championship bout of the Tim Patrick Duals on Saturday. The Vikings collected six pins in the title match. Forest Grove beat Putnam 67-3 and Roosevelt 60-15 earlier in the day.

Grants Pass boys basketball

Grants Pass (6-1) recorded a 49-38 home win over Sprague on Tuesday, followed by a 56-25 win at Springfield on Thursday.

Jesuit girls basketball

Jesuit (4-0) put together its highest point total of the young season in an 88-41 win at West Linn on Tuesday, followed by a 68-38 win at Willamette on Friday.

Lakeridge girls basketball

Lakeridge (6-1) won its host tournament with a 47-36 victory over Tigard in Sunday’s finale. The Pacers earned a 53-20 win over Thurston and a 60-38 win over Sunset in the earlier rounds.

Lebanon girls basketball

Lebanon (4-0) squeezed past Central 46-44 on Tuesday, then moved up in class and blew out Sandy 67-28 on Thursday.

Lincoln boys basketball

Lincoln (4-0) stayed unbeaten with a 69-64 win at Cleveland in its PIL opener Friday night. The Cardinals opened the week with a 69-66 road win over Jesuit — last season’s Metro League champion.

Mountain View boys basketball

Mountain View (5-0) pulled off three wins during the week, highlighted by a 57-53 decision over North Eugene on Friday.

Philomath boys basketball

Philomath (7-0) beat Cascade Christian 47-43 to claim the Les Schwab South Coast title Saturday. The team knocked off Junction City 56-49 and Redmond 50-42 earlier in the tournament.

South Medford girls basketball

South Medford (6-1) notched road wins over Corvallis and Crescent Valley — both 5A tournament teams last season.

Tigard boys basketball

Tigard (5-1) knocked off a couple of PIL foes with a 65-56 win at Wells on Tuesday, followed by a 59-40 win over Grant on Thursday.

Tillamook wrestling

Tillamook won the Van Holstad Memorial tournament Saturday with 249 points, beating runner-up Sheldon by almost 100. The Cheesemakers crowned six weight-class champions.

Tualatin girls basketball

Tualatin (5-0) remained unbeaten with double-digit wins over PIL teams Cleveland and Wells.

Wilsonville boys basketball

Wilsonville (5-0) opened league play with a 55-43 win at Parkrose on Wednesday before knocking off Silverton 51-42 in the Capitol City Classic on Saturday — a rematch of last season’s 5A title game.
