Congratulations to Serra Catholic’s Amire Spencer for being voted SBLive’s Pennsylvania High School Athlete of the Week for September 18-24!

Spencer received 40.08% of the vote.

In a 47-12 win over Imani Christian, he hauled in nine catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns. 

Nehemiah Akeem of OLSH was second with 26.28%, while Abby Kline of Northern Bedford County was third with 15.47%

Nehemiah Azeem, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart football

In a 40-24 win over Fort Cherry, Azeem completed 17 of his 26 passing attempts for 344 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Colin Brady, West Greene football

The junior running back was the WPIAL leader in rush yards heading into the week and will leave the same way after running for 290 yards in a 49-33 win over Bentworth. He scored five touchdowns to help lead the Pioneers to their first victory of the season.

Karsyn Cox, Central Columbia soccer

In three games this week, she allowed zero goals on seven shots. She has allowed just one goal on 28 shots in helping the Bluejays get out to a 10-0 start.

Zach Curtin, William Penn Charter football

In a 28-6 win over Father Judge, the running back had over 200 total yards and scored three touchdowns.

Zach Gordon, Danville football

In a 49-14 win over Southern Columbia, he completed nine of his 10 pass attempts for 245 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 110 yards and a pair of scores.

Ray Jackson, McDowell football

In a 48-6 win over Canada Prep, the senior wide receiver made eight catches for 123 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Abby Kline, Northern Bedford county soccer

In two games this week, she scored seven goals and had two assists. She now has 31 goals and 73 points on the season through nine games and scored the 100th goal of her career on Wednesday.

Ethen Knox, Oil City football

For the fourth straight week, the junior running back went over 400 yards rushing, as he carried the ball 45 times for 432 yards and three touchdowns in a 21-20 loss to Northwestern.

Tiqwai Hayes, Aliquippa football

who finished with 25 carries for 187 yards and two touchdowns in a 19-16 win over West Allegheny, including the game-winning score with 2:10 left in the game.

Ryan Miller, Seneca football

The senior running back broke two school records in a 46-35 win over Titusville by running for 392 yards and six touchdowns. He had three touchdown runs of over 40 yards - 41, 79, and 82.

Marcus Quaker, West Perry football

In a 51-8 win over James Buchanan, he was 10-of-13 passing for 168 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 75 yards and two more scores.

Max Schlager, Trinity football

He ran for 171 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-14 win over Boiling Springs, while also making 13 tackles on defense.

Khalon Simmons, Meadville football

Had just nine rushes in a 62-0 win over Conneaut Area but made them count with 129 yards and four touchdowns. He also added a touchdown grab in the game.

Shawn Solomon, Jr, Brashear football

Despite a 28-20 loss to Perry, Solomon ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns and also had a 42-yard touchdown catch.

Amire Spencer, Serra Catholic football

In a 47-12 win over Imani Christian, he hauled in nine catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns.

Liza Suydam, Manheim Township soccer

In a 3-1 win over Penn Manor, she scored all three goals for the Blue Streaks. And then she added two more goals in a win over Cedar Crest on Wednesday. She is the leading goal scorer for one of the best teams in the state.

Jalen Wagner, Reynolds football

In a 64-0 win over Maplewood, he carried the ball 24 times for 393 yards and scored eight touchdowns. The 393 yards are a new Mercer County single-game rushing record that had stood since 2013.

Marquese Williams, Bishop McDevitt football

He carried the ball 11 times for 142 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Cedar Cliff. The University of Minnesota commit had four of those touchdowns in the first half.

Josh Zellner, Northwestern Lehigh soccer

The leading goal scorer on the year for the Tigers, the senior scored seven goals in three games this week, scoring at least two goals in each of the three games with a hat trick in 5-2 win over Saucon Valley on Monday.
