From West Allegheny’s Brock Cornell to General McClane’s Jacob Zietz, there were several big-time high school football performances across the state of Pennsylvania in games played September 7-9

There were several big-time high school football performances across the state of Pennsylvania this past weekend. Here are some of those performances.

Brock Cornell, West Allegheny

In a win over Ringgold, Cornell scored three rushing touchdowns and also returned the game’s opening kickoff for a score.

Jamari Curlett, North East

Made four catches for 11 yards and scored on three of them in a 35-0 win over Oil City. He also had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Eric Doerue, South Park

In a shutout of Brentwood, Doerue ran for 253 yards and scored three times.

Julian Dugger, Penn Hills

In a win over Pine-Richland, the Pitt commit rushed for 150 yards on 12 carries and scored twice. He also accounted for two more touchdowns through the air.

Colton Frazier, Shenango

Hauled in nine passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-19 win over Riverside.

Tiqwai Hayes, Aliquippa

In a 33-7 win over North Catholic, Hayes ran for 228 yards and three touchdowns.

Tysean Jones, Harbor Creek

In just one half of action on Thursday night, the running back went for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Of his three scores, one was from 65 yards and another was from 40.

Samaj Jones, St. Joseph’s Prep

The Cincinnati commit accounted for three touchdowns as the Hawks defeated Lakeland (Florida) 45-21. Jones scored twice on the ground and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass.

Rico Scott, Bishop McDevitt

Pulled down eight catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-21 win over La Salle.

Caullin Summers, Sharpsville

In a win over Reynolds, Summers threw for 383 yards and six touchdowns and added 106 yards and a score on the ground.

Cooper Taylor, Central Bucks West

In a 40-20 win over Quakertown, Taylor carried the ball 13 times for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also throwing for a score.

Braylon Wagner, Redbank Valley

In a 50-27 win over Punxsutawney, he completed all but two of his 23 pass attempts for 391 yards and six touchdowns and scored the other Bulldog touchdown on the ground.

Peyton Wehner, Pittsburgh Central Catholic

The senior quarterback threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns and also scored twice on the ground as the Vikings remained undefeated with a 62-46 win over Bethel Park.

Tasso Whipple, Penn-Trafford

In a 28-26 win over Woodland Hills, Whipple carried the ball 27 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns.

Jacob Zietz, General McClane

The junior intercepted four passes in a 34-14 win over Franklin.
