Pittsburgh wide receiver and reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison has entered the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

And that could be very good news for the USC Trojans.

Amid rumblings that Addison's transfer portal appearance was imminent, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported last week that Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi called USC coach Lincoln Riley multiple times to voice his frustrations.

The Trojans are expected to be a major contender in the battle to land the 6-foot, 175-pound pass-catcher.

Other schools who could enter the mix include Alabama, Georgia, Miami, (a return to) Pitt and Texas, which recently hired former Pitt wide receiver coach Brennan Marion as its wide receiver coach and pass game coordinator.

Last season, Addison racked up 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.

As a recruit in the class of 2020, Addison was rated the nation's No. 131 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete, which made him the headliner of his class.

Early in Riley's tenure, USC had relied heavily upon the transfer portal to bolster its roster.

Those efforts have been rewarded, as the Trojans have secured several immediate plug-and-play athletes, highlighted by Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams, Stanford running back Austin Jones, Oregon running back Travis Dye, Oklahoma wide receiver Mario Williams, Colorado wide receiver Brendan Rice, Arizona State linebacker Eric Gentry, Auburn edge-rusher Romello Height and several others.

Could Addison be next? USC is projected to be firmly in the mix.
