Bishop Gorman High School (Nevada) four-star cornerback Jeremiah Hughes had never been to the University of Washington before this weekend.

Following his trip, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back sounds like he may return.

“That was my first time at Washington at all,” he said. “It was amazing. It was nice. The view from the hotel was super nice.”

Particularly noteworthy was the way Hughes felt wanted by the entire Washington coaching staff.

“I was able to meet all of the coaches," he said. "We had dinner. I was able to sit down and go over film with Coach Juice [Julius Brown]. The staff was amazing. They welcomed me like I was a little brother.”

That connection may prove to be huge if the Huskies are about to land the talented West region corner.

“I’m closest to coach Juice," he said. "He was just amazing. He toured us. He was taking us around the city. We talked a lot and he welcomed me. We had some great conversations about why U-Dub would be good for me.”

One of the main talking points? Washington's history of developing defensive back, which continued in this year's draft with first-round selection Trent McDuffie and second-round pick Kyler Gordon.

“It’s most definitely an NFL DB factory," Hughes said "I know if I want to get to the next level, Washington can get me there. Their history speaks for itself.”

Still, there's a lot of recruitment left for him.

Hughes is hoping to take official visits to LSU, Arkansas and Utah in June before making a decision later in the summer.

Still, Washington definitely gave him something to think about this weekend.
