Jada Williams, 5-star point guard, on Arizona Wildcats' elite recruiting class: 'We aren’t done yet'

The Arizona Wildcats are assembling a 2023 recruiting class that might be ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Entering the week, Adia Barnes' program already had commitments from forward Montaya Dew and post Breya Cunningham, the nation's No. 9 and 10 overall prospects, respectively.

But Arizona added another massive piece to the puzzle Monday evening, as 5-star point guard Jada Williams flipped her commitment from UCLA to Arizona.

"Over the past six months I started having a few doubts," she said. "UCLA is a great school and program. However, I just felt like Arizona (women's basketball) was a better fit for me overall. My leadership, style of play and passion match well with Adia (Barnes) and the team."

According to the nation's No. 20 overall prospect, even that trio won't be the end of Arizona's elite recruiting haul.

"We aren’t done yet either," Williams said.

While she did not provide details on specific targets, the dynamic point guard indicated that they are working on a couple of potential big-time additions.

"We are working on a few more, but can’t say," she added. 

It's early - and UConn is lurking with two top-seven commitments of its own (Ashlynn Shade and Kamorea Arnold - but Arizona is making a run at the nation's No. 1 recruiting class.
