The nation's No. 1 overall prospect is set to enroll early at Texas, Miami flipped an Oklahoma pledge and Oregon's five-star quarterback commit looked eerily similar to Patrick Mahomes in a playoff win on Friday night. 

Here's a look at the top recruiting stories of the weeK:

It's safe to say IMG Academy (Florida) star David Stone, the nation's No. 1 defensive lineman, would win just about any Halloween costume competition in East Lansing.

Steve Clarkson, well-established quarterback coach and father of four-star quarterback pledge Pierce Clarkson, wanted Louisville fans not to storm the field and incur a conference fine.

That money, he joked, should be earmarked for another purpose.

According to Rivals' Anwar Richardson, Manning will, in fact, graduate early and enroll at the University of Texas in January.

- Kaleb Spencer, coveted linebacker/safety, flips from Oklahoma Sooners to Miami Hurricanes 

While Spencer is a three-star prospect and rated the nation's No. 44 linebacker, he has accumulated more than 20 scholarship offers, highlighted by Arkansas, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others.

- Kelby Collins, Florida Gators 4-star DL pledge, emphatically shuts down article asking if he'll flip: 'Nope' 

In a tweet teasing an article, Rivals asked "Could four-star Florida commit DE Kelby Collins be on flip watch?"

Turns out, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound All-American selection aw the post, because he quickly answered the question himself on Twitter and shut down the rumor.

The USC Trojans are back on the board with a key in-state commitment.

This time it comes from San Diego, as Lincoln High School (California) four-star linebacker David Peevy announced his commitment to USC over fellow finalists Oregon and Washington.

The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back is ranked a five-star prospect, the nation's No. 24 overall prospect and No. 2 safety.

- Nation's No. 2 overall basketball prospect Ian Jackson visits Oregon Ducks

Over the weekend, Cardinal Hayes High School (New York) five-star prospect Ian Jackson, the nation's No. 2 overall prospect in 2024 and the "next big-time New York guard," was in Eugene on a visit.

- Fox Crader, nation's No. 12 offensive tackle, has high praise for Oregon following crucial visit

"I've been to Oregon multiple times now, whether it be to check out the facilities or a game or my third game last weekend," he said. "My dad actually flew it for this game because I wanted him to see what they've got going on over here. He lives in Texas right now, so he's over here hoping I get to a school in Texas. But I told him, 'Oregon has been recruiting me the hardest out of anybody, so I want you to see what they've got going on.'"

- Nation's No. 1 cornerback Cormani McClain commits to Miami over Alabama, Florida

Entering Thursday's decision, McClain was the top uncommitted player in the country and it was widely believed he was headed to Florida.

But that changed when the 6-foot-2, 165-pound defensive back announced his commitment to Miami in a shocking turn of events.
