Earlier this month, Narbonne (California) four-star small forward Marcus Adams Jr. announced a top five of Mississippi State, Oregon, Syracuse, Texas and UCLA.

But since then, the nation's No. 61 overall prospect has added scholarship offers from Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas State, Tennessee, USC, Xavier and several others, dramatically altering his recruiting landscape.

While those initial five finalists remain in the mix, Adams said Wednesday that his list is evolving.

"It's definitely changed," he said. "Every school that was in my top five before is still in, but there's more (schools)."

On Wednesday, the 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward announced he will be taking an official visit to Kansas this weekend;

"I have a good relationship with the coaches," Adams said. "I'm excited for this trip. I've never been to Kansas before. It's a great program and I'm looking forward to it."

Adams said he also anticipates taking visits to Texas and UCLA and would have one more official visit available.

The in-state Bruins stand out of a number of reasons.

"I like that it's local and the connection I have with the coaches," Adams said. "I like the fanbase and I've got a lot of people that support me up there in Westwood."

He also had high praise for the Longhorns.

"Texas has a great fanbase,' Adams said. "The coaches are good people. I like the program, and I think it's a good school."

While a lot remains fluid in Adams' quickly-evolving recruitment, he hopes to make a decision in April or May, but has not yet set a date.

It's hard to blame him for that given that several major national programs have tended offers in recent weeks.

Clearly, however, Kansas, Texas and UCLA are firmly in the mix.
