As it turns out, Pace Academy (Georgia) four-star linebacker Jordan Burns saved the best for last.

The 6-foot-1 1/2, 215-pound defender, rated the nation's No. 389 overall prospect and No. 34 linebacker, took official visits to Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Tennessee this month.

Tennessee got the last visit - and appears to have hit a home run.

On Tuesday, Burns shut down his recruitment, announcing his commitment to Tennessee over the Commodores, Razorbacks and noteworthy offers from Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and USC:

“I just loved the staff and the coaches along with Tennessee being my dream school,” Burns told On3. “They are just real people and great people there.”

The Georgia product should be a versatile piece for Tennessee's defense in the future, as he can cover in space, bend the edge rushing the passer or play a hard-hitting inside linebacker position.

Burns is the second major commitment for Tennessee since the weekend, as he joins coveted Bradley Central (Tennessee) four-star athlete Boo Carter.

Fresh off of signing a top-15 recruiting class in 2023, Tennessee finds itself in familiar territory with the nation's No. 13 class in the current cycle.

That group consists of 13 pledges, eight of which are bluechip prospects, including headliner Jake Merklinger, the nation's No. 7 quarterback

Not far behind are the Vols' newest additions, Carter and Burns, a pair of big-time athletes who have suddenly propelled Tennessee on a recruiting hot streak.
