Two of the top football programs in the state of Florida are set to clash Friday night when Chaminade-Madonna takes on American Heritage

That backdrop provides a great opportunity for college football coaches to make an impression and check out some of the nation's top talent.

So, unsurprisingly tireless recruiter Mario Cristobal, head coach of the Miami Hurricanes, was on hand.

He also made sure his presence was felt, flashing "The U" hands behind a local newscaster during his report near the field:

Miami already holds the commitment of Chaminade-Madonna five-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader and four-star athlete Zaquan Patterson, but have recently made a push to land five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, the nation's No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver.

That effort comes even after Smith told a Miami fan he'd never step foot on campus again following some trash talk.

As for American Heritage, the star-studded program is responsible for the development of emerging star Miami running back Mark Fletcher, who has "NFL" written all over him.

Next in line is 2025 ball-carrier Deandre Desinor, the nation's No. 2 running back, who already boasts a Miami offer.

Of course, both programs have multiple elite prospects that go well beyond the names listed above.

So, Cristobal is once again making a smart recruiting move - and making sure that effort is noticed by players, parents and the community.

Smart man!
