Deion Sanders, Colorado impress nation's No. 1 running back: 'They know what they're doing'

Mater Dei (California) five-star running back Jordon Davison was impressed by Colorado and Deion Sanders

The Colorado Buffaloes hosted an impressive collection of visitors last week for its showdown against the USC Trojans.

Arguably the headliner of the group was class of 2025 Mater Dei (California) five-star prospect Jordon Davison, the nation's No. 12 overall prospect and No. 1 running back.

The visit marked a return trip for the 5-foot-11, 210-pound ball-carrier, but was his first gameday visit.

Seeing the program up close and personal, Davison left Boulder believing Colorado is in very good hands with Deion Sanders.

"My thoughts about Coach Prime and Colorado is that they are trending in the right direction," he said. "And they know what they are doing."

Colorado won just one game last season, but is already 3-2 this fall.

Perhaps equally important from a recruiting standpoint, the Buffaloes have been America's most-watched college football program this season.

That attention has led to plenty of interest from top recruits.

While Colorado's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 75 nationally, the 2025 class already boasts First Baptist Academy (Florida) bluechip wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr.

Expect more four/five-star prospects to join the fold, especially if their takeaway is similar to that of Davison's.

Colorado is trending upward.
