Prediction: Oklahoma Sooners poised to land massive offensive lineman

Oklahoma appears poised to add a giant interior offensive lineman

The Oklahoma Sooners are riding high after beating bitter rival Texas 34-30 in the Red River Showdown

And it appears as though the momentum will continue on the recruiting trail with a new commitment.

Prediction: Eddy Pierre-Louis to Oklahoma Sooners

Tampa Catholic (Florida) four-star interior offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis may be rated the nation's No. 240 overall prospect and No. 14 interior offensive lineman, but it seems the college football world views him more favorably than even that bluechip distinction.

The 6-foot-3, 335-pound mauler garnered more than 40 scholarship offers during his recruitment, highlighted by Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, USC and others.

Last month, Pierre-Louis released a top five of Central Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M.

But the truth is this has primarily felt like a battle between Oklahoma and Oregon for some time - with Central Florida sliding back in recent months.

There was a time this summer where it seemed possible that the Ducks had taken a slight lead, but since then it has been all Sooners.

The recruiting industry agrees.

247Sports has a recent Oklahoma prediction in, while On3 gives the Sooners a 90.2 percent chance of landing Pierre-Louis.

If, in fact, the big-bodied lineman picks the Sooners, it will address an area of need.

So far in the class of 2024, Oklahoma has three offensive line commitments: Sierra Canyon (California) three-star prospect Eugene Brooks, Itawamba Agriculture (Mississippi) three-star offensive tackle Isaiah Autry and Sante Fe (Oklahoma) three-star lineman Josh Aisosa

Overall, Oklahoma's class is ranked No. 7 nationally.
