Kevyn Humes down to 5; Coveted cornerback trims list

St. Frances Academy (Maryland) four-star cornerback Kevyn Humes is down to a final five

One of the top 2025 defensive backs in the Big Ten's footprint trimmed his list Friday.

St. Frances (Maryland) four-star cornerback Kevyn "Kerm" Humes announced a top five of Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon and Penn State:

Humes had taken several unofficial visits, and has been to check out each of his final five schools, but he did leave out schools that have hosted him previously, including Miami.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound corner is rated the nation's No. 90 overall prospect and No. 10 cornerback in his class, according to Rivals

All five of Humes' schools have a shot to secure his commitment, but two programs are particularly notable early.

Penn State has been a power recruiter in the Northeast for some time, while Oregon picked up a pair of cross-country commitments from St. Frances this recruiting cycle - quarterback Michael Van Buren and cornerback Ify Obidegwu - and fans chanted Humes' name during a visit in October

Still neither of those factors are especially meaningful clues into the future of Humes.
