Baylor emerging for Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery after Wisconsin decommitment

Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery has pushed up his Baylor visit

A day after committing to the Wisconsin Badgers, Syracuse transfer Leon Lowery has, once again, re-opened his recruitment.

As a sophomore this fall, the 6-foot-4, 239-pound 'backer accumulated 46 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks, making him an intriguing possible addition for programs around the country.

So, what's next for Lowery?

According to his representation, Chris Wash (@TXRecruited) and Darren Wilson (@callmeagentdwil), the Baylor Bears have emerged as a serious contender and Lowery's visit has been pushed up from December 15 to this week.

While On3 has reported the Oregon State Beavers are the other major contender, Lowery's representation indicated that may not be the case.

"Oregon State (is) probably not in the mix," they said.

Lowery was originally a three-star recruit out of North Brunswick Township (New Jersey) in the class of 2020, and chose Syracuse over offers Indiana, Rutgers, Temple, Virginia Tech and others.

The NCAA's transfer portal officially opened Monday.
