Oregon State Beavers offer 2 in-state football targets

Oregon State offered a pair of in-state targets

The Oregon State Beavers have frequently been ahead of the curve offering top prospects in the state of Oregon, identifying the state's top players early in the recruiting process.

It seems that trend will continue under new coach Trent Bray.

This week, Oregon State extended a pair of offers to Central Catholic (Oregon) offensive tackle Zac Stascausky and West Linn (Oregon) lineman Jake Normoyle.

Stascausky, a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle, has a chance to become the top prospect in the state of Oregon in the class of 2025 and has seen his stock soar in recent weeks.

He has also recently picked up offers from Idaho and UCLA.

"It feels amazing," Stascausky said. "I’ve been working hard for a long time so it feels nice to get recognition but there’s still a long way to go so you have to balance that sense of pride with discipline because there’s still a long way to go."

Oregon State's offer carries extra significance given the Central Catholic star's familiarity with the program.

"It feels great to be offered by one of the teams you watched growing up," Stascausky said.

As for Normoyle, the reigning Oregon 6A lineman of the year projects as one of the top centers on the West Coast.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound interior lineman was ecstatic to receive his first major offer.

"The offer meant a lot, especially as an in-state kid," Normoyle said. "It gave me some relief that the work I’m doing is paying off."

The West Linn star hopes to visit Oregon State this spring, as well as Montana State (April 12), Oregon, Washington State and potentially several others.

So far, Oregon State has one commitment in the class of 2025 - Liberty (Nevada) three-star linebacker Jeremiah Ioane - but would love to add Stascausky and Normoyle into the fold.

With offers in hand, both players will have the option to play locally at the college level.
