Sept. 28-30, 2022 top stars

Darren Lloyd, West Florence

The senior tailback ran for 183 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion as the undefeated Knights beat Myrtle Beach for the first time.

Christian Sexton, Lexington

The junior linebacker was sensational in the Wildcats’ 25-7 win over Chapin. Sexton made 15 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, broke up a pass and blocked a punt.

Josiah Thompson, Dillon

It always starts in the trenches. Thompson, a 6-foot-7, 290-pound junior, took care of the left side of there line as the undefeated Wildcats pounded Loris 41-14. Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Clemson, South Carolina and Auburn are among the 15 scholarship offers Thompson has received.

Naahzeikial Mays, Brookland-Cayce

The senior tailback ran for 16 times for 194 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson.

Cortez Lane, Camden

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior had 153 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 41-13 thumping of Lakewood.

Troy Timko, Hilton Head Island

Timko ran for four touchdowns as the Seahawks’ 35-32 loss to rival Bluffton in overtime.

Chance Cummings, Wilson

A 6-foot, 244-pound defensive end, Cummings had 10 tackles, including 2 for loss, intercepted a pass and had a sack in Wilson’s 42-9 win over North Myrtle Beach.

Hudson Spivey, Pee Dee Academy

Spivey threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns while running for 70 yards and another TD in a 34-27 victory over Pinewood Prep.

T.J. Wright, Cane Bay

The Cobras’ tailback ran 15 times for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 36-15 win over Wando.

Kevon Rivera, Hanahan

Rivera ran for over 150 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 42-35 loss to Woodland. He also caught a 49-yard touchdown pass.

Cooper Johns, River Bluff

Johns ran for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Gators knocked off previously unbeaten White Knoll 25-14. He now has over 1,000 yards for the season.

Jonah Norris, Lexington

Norris had another big night, running for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets beat Chapin 25-7. He also went over 1,000 yards for the season.

Shikeem Shilow, South Florence

Shilow ran 24 times for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns as South Florence held off Hartsville 33-28.

Chris Sanders, Denmark-Olar

Sanders did it all in a 51-37 win over Ridge Spring-Monetta. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior ran for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns, had 2 catches for 38 yards, blocked a punt and returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown.

Tyler McManus, Lamar

McManus threw for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns while running 9 times for 92 yards and a touchdown as the Silver Foxes throttled Latta 39-8.

Timoun Byrd, Marlboro County

The Bulldogs’ quarterback ran for four touchdowns and threw for another in a 35-13 win over Darlington.

Kacy Fields, Beaufort

Fields was at it again, running for 271 yards and 4 touchdowns on 26 carries in a 34-14 win over Phillip Simmons.

Jeremiah McEachin, Battery Creek

The Dolphins’ tailback ran for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 40-34 victory over North Charleston.

Duncan Skehan, Cardinal Newman

The junior quarterback threw five touchdown passes in the Cardinals’ 69-40 win over John Paul II.

Hudson Talley, Dorman

In a highly efficient performance, Talley was 11-of-13 for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns as undefeated Dorman won again.

Kamajay Bracket-Brannon, Broome

The dual-threat quarterback threw for 169 yards and a touchdown and had 100 yards rushing on 13 carries in a 30-21 win over Travelers Rest.

Colton Link, Landrum

Link carried 18 times for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 28-0 win over Chesnee.

Asante Jenkins, Spartanburg Christian

Jenkins had 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 27 carries in a 40-6 win over Carolina Academy.
