Here are 10 athletes for your voting consideration

We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Jan. 29-Feb. 3 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Bryce Peterson, Andrew Jackson, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot junior guard had a huge game with a career-high 34 points as well as 10 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in a 96-42 rout of Buford. He then turned in a double-double of 14 points and 12 assists in a 72-54 win over North Central. Peterson is averaging 13.2 points.

Brody Bailey, Carolina Forest, Boys Wrestling

Bailey won his 150-pound match by a 5-4 decision, lifting the Panthers to a dramatic 34-30 victory over Stratford in the second round of the 5-A dual team state playoffs.

Brayden Hendrix, Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach, Boys Basketball

The sharpshooting guard scored 21 points as the Saints upset South Carolina High School League 5-A power St. James 50-47.

Will Fowler, James F. Byrnes, Boys Basketball

Fowler scored 22 points in a 56-53 win over Dorman. The senior star had recently surpassed 1,000 points for his career.

Savannah Brown, Landrum, Girls Basketball

How’s this for a double double. Brown scored 24 points and corralled 22 rebounds in a 77-46 win over Blacksburg. The 5-foot-11 senior also had 4 assists and 6 blocked shots.

Olivia Randolph, Wren, Girls Basketball

Randolph posted a double double of a career high 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 81-21 rout of Palmetto. The 6-foot-2 senior also had five steals in the game. Then she scored 18 points in a 62-33 win over Powdersville.

Braxton Rodgers, Cardinal Newman, Boys Wrestling

Rodgers pinned his opponent at 215 pounds, clinching the Cardinals’ South Carolina Independent Schools Association state championship.

Joyce Edwards, Camden, Girls Basketball

Edwards continues to show she’s one of the nation’s top players. The South Carolina signee scored 33 points and had a career-high 24 rebounds as the defending 3-A state champion Bulldogs routed Marlboro County 114-15.

JayAun Perkins, West Florence, Boys Basketball

Perkins hit a game-winning jumper at the buzzer as the Knights beat Hartsville 46-44. The 6-foot-2 sophomore finished with 10 points.

Aveion Walker, Denmark-Olar, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-8 junior had another dominant performance with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals in a 77-30 rout of Williston-Elko. Walker averages 19.7 points and 10.5 rebounds.
