Holliday senior F Jalynn Bristow and San Antonio Clark junior C Arianna Roberson highlighted a list of 30 standout Class 1A-6A Texas high school girls basketball players who received All-Tournament teams honors at the 2023 UIL Girls Basketball State Championships in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Holliday Eagles senior forward Jalynn Bristow and San Antonio Clark Cougars junior center Arianna Roberson headlined the Class 1A-6A All-Tournament teams at the 2023 UIL Girls Basketball State Championships on March 2-4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The UIL recognized the top five players at each classification level during state tournament action with Class 1A-6A All-Tournament team honors based on their performances during the state semifinals and their respective state title games.

Roberson and Bristow were each voted Class 6A and 3A MVPs, respectively, of the 2023 UIL Girls Basketball State Tournaments after leading the Cougars and Eagles to their first state championships in school history.

Bristow, an Iowa State Cyclones signee, made her presence felt early and often on both ends of the floor as a lockdown interior defender and as one of the most efficient shooters at the state tournament in any classification level.

In the Eagles’ first UIL Girls Basketball State Tournament game in school history, Bristow went off with a game-high 35 points on a stellar 17-of-21 shooting (81% FG) with 18 rebounds, four blocks, three assists and two steals in a 59-40 win over Columbus in the Class 3A state semifinals.

The Iowa State signee then kept rolling in the Class 3A state championship game, dropping 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting (72.7% FG) with 14 rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists in a 58-47 victory over defending state champion Fairfield to help Holliday win its first state title in program history.

Bristow, a 6-foot-3 forward, posted back-to-back monster double-doubles to earn the Class 3A MVP award for the state tournament after she averaged 28.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals on 78.1% shooting from the floor.

Roberson was a major shot-altering force down low in the center of the Cougars’ defense, but also played a major role in establishing a rebounding advantage for her team in both of their state tournament games.

The four-star Class of 2024 recruit scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting (60% FG) with 11 rebounds, four blocks and two assists to help lead San Antonio Clark to a 49-48 win over Coppell in the 6A state semifinals that came down to the final possession.

Then the Cougars’ junior post star tallied 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting (63.6% FG) with 15 rebounds, four blocks, three assists, marking her second straight 20-points double-double in a 42-37 win over DeSoto in the 6A state title game to bring Clark its first state championship in program history.

Roberson, the younger sister of NBA veteran Andre Roberson, averaged 23.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.5 assists on 61.5% shooting to lock up the Class 6A MVP award for the state tournament.
