Jacob Henry, son of WWE legend, commits to Oklahoma wrestling
Austin Vandegrift (Texas) standout senior football player and wrester Jacob Henry announced his commitment to Oklahoma's wrestling program on Sunday.
Henry, who won a UIL district 25 championship as a heavyweight on Thursday, will join the Sooners wrestling program after establishing himself among the top wrestlers and football players in the Lone Star State.
A three-star football prospect, Henry's lone rating comes from 247 Sports, which labels him the No. 84 ranked football recruit in Texas in 2024.
Jacob Henry transferred from Lake Travis and was a first team 6A District 25 selection for the Vipers, which went 10-1, won a district title and finished the season as the No. 16 team in Texas.
Mark Henry, now a WWF/WWE star, is from Silsbee, Tex. set national records in all four powerlifting categories (squat, bench, deadlift and total) and was named the world's strongest teenager by the LA Times after a record-setting National High School Powerlifting Championship.
After playing football at Silsbee High School, Mark Henry won a world powerlifting championship in 1995, the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2002 and worked alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in pro wrestling in the 1990s.
