Top 25 Washington high school boys basketball rankings heading into postseason (2/6/2024)

Mount Si started the season as 4A favorite and has looked the part with a perfect in-state record and 4A KingCo crown

As the 2023-24 postseason gets underway, here are SBLive WA's top 25 boys basketball teams, ranked in order:

TOP 25 ALL-CLASSIFICATION BOYS RANKINGS

2023-24 Washington high school boys basketball: Cleveland at Auburn

1. MOUNT SI WILDCATS 20-2 (4A)

Led by the state's best backcourt – Trevor Hennig and Blake Forrest – 15 of the Wildcats’ victories are by at least 25 points and have no in-state losses.

2. AUBURN TROJANS 21-1 (3A)

With reigning NPSL MVP Jaylen Petty, the diminutive Trojans (one player 6-foot-4) won their 12 conference games by an average of 42 points.

3. DAVIS PIRATES 18-1 (4A)

The Pirates can cap an unbeaten march through the Big Nine with victories Friday and Saturday and lift Hall of Fame coach Eli Juarez to 500 wins.

4. MOUNTLAKE TERRACE HAWKS 19-1 (3A)

Unbeaten in 3A/2A Wesco, the Hawks are led by the 1,000-point scoring duo of Jaxon Dubiel (who Friday scored a school-record 40) and Zaveon Jones.

5. GLACIER PEAK GRIZZLIES 20-1 (4A)

The Wesco 4A champs avenged their lone loss of the season hammering Jackson by 33 in the rematch, and have dominated many others in similar fashion,

6. RICHLAND BOMBERS 17-3 (4A)

The Bombers have won 41 straight Mid-Columbia Conference games, sweeping this season with four players averaging 14 or more points per game.

7. O’DEA IRISH 15-6 (3A)

The Irish surged to the top seed in the Metro League tournament by edging Garfield and Eastside Catholic in a three-day span with both wins on the road.

8. MT. SPOKANE WILDCATS 16-3 (3A)

Wildcats are the Greater Spokane League’s top seed into district play and bounced back from a head-scratcher of a 25-point loss last week to University.

9. TAHOMA BEARS 16-5 (4A)

The North Puget Sound League 4A champs boast a stellar offense with four double-digit scorers topped by 6-foot-6 senior Dalton Brown’s 21.1 points a contest.

10. BELLEVUE WOLVERINES 17-3 (3A)

After a season-opening loss to league foe Liberty of Issaquah, the Wolverines have lost just once to in-state opponent (Mount Si) in claiming the KingCo crown.

11. GARFIELD BULLDOGS 13-5 (3A)

The defending 3A champs are starting to jell with new pieces coming together with all-state wing Legend Smiley leading the way.

12. EASTSIDE CATHOLIC CRUSADERS 15-5 (3A)

After spending much of the season at or near the top of the 3A state poll, the Crusaders have dropped three straight and four of six heading into the postseason.

13. LINCOLN OF TACOMA ABES 17-3 (3A)

The Abes have ripped off eight wins in a row and a share of the Pierce County League title after a mid-season slump in which they dropped three of six.

14. CURTIS VIKINGS 17-6 (4A)

No Zoom Diallo for the defending 4A champs, but with senior guard Devin Whitten leading the way, the Vikings were rolling before being upset in SPSL league tourney.

15. NORTH KITSAP VIKINGS 17-3 (2A)

With the best backcourt pairing (Harry Davies and Cade Orness) this side of Mount Si, the Vikings on Tuesday capped an unbeaten run through the Olympic League.

16. SUMNER SPARTANS 17-4 (4A)

The Spartans are peaking as the district tournament gets going, having won five straight and their first SPSL tournament title in more than a decade.

17. FEDERAL WAY EAGLES 15-5 (4A)

The perennial state contenders dropped three of their first six games before they got going and have won three straight by double digits heading into districts.

18. ZILLAH LEOPARDS 20-0 (1A)

The lone unbeaten in the four biggest classifications, the Leopards’ tourney-like finish to the regular season had four games in five nights with three blowout wins.

19. MOUNT VERNON BULLDOGS 18-2 (3A)

Northwest Conference co-champs have won 11 straight, including a one-point win at two-time defending 2A champ Lynden and five others by at least 25.

20. LYNDEN LIONS 17-4 (2A)

Led by two-time 2A tourney MVP Anthony Canales, the Lions battled past rival Lynden Christian on Saturday to grab a share of the Northwest Conference title.

21. NORTH THURSTON RAMS 18-3 (3A)

As senior forward Ray Adams racks up double-doubles (18.3 ppg, 11.7 rpg) and thwarts the opponent’s down low (3.1 bpg), the Rams keep rolling.

22. LYNDEN CHRISTIAN LYNCS 19-2 (1A)

The two-time defending 1A champs have reloaded around reigning tourney MVP Jeremiah Wright and were just a game out of first place in the rugged Northwest Conference.

23. KAMIAKIN BRAVES 17-3 (4A)

With Mid-Columbia leading scorer Peter Dress (22.6 ppg) the Braves are perfect … other than games against top-five 4A contenders Davis and Richland.

24. GRANDVIEW GREYHOUNDS 18-3 (2A)

The CWAC district tourney’s top seed rebounded from an upset loss at Ellensburg with five straight wins, four of them by 14 or more points.

25. ANNIE WRIGHT GATORS 18-2 (1A)

Loaded at guard with juniors Jeremiah Harshman, Martin Kaupanger and Reggie Lester, haven’t lost since December.
