Here are the candidates for the WaFd BankArizona High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 31-Feb. 6 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Eva Amenhauser, Freshman, Estrella Foothills - Posting a new career-high of 14 points en route to a double-double on Wednesday, she also had 19 rebounds, two steals and two assists to help the Wolves pick up a 74-40 victory over Yuma. 

Leamsi Acuna, Junior, Flowing Wells -Helping the Caballeros clinch the Sonoran Region title last week, Acuna led Thursday’s game in scoring with 23 points to go with six assists, four deflections, three steals and two rebounds to help defeat the Sunnyside Blue Devils 57-46. 

Adriana Bachman, Junior, Poston Butte - Tying her season high of 30 points to open the week Monday against Apache Junction, Bachman also had eight steals, four assists, four rebounds and four deflections to help Poston Butte cruise to an easy 72-16 win. 

AJ Bonapart, Junior, Sahuaro -It was a busy week for the Sahuaro Cougars, who played five games in six days last week for a record of 3-2, picking up wins over Pueblo, Sahuarita and Cholla while falling to Buena and Salpointe Catholic. Bonapart averaged 14.8 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 1.4 assists in the six-day span.

Aniya Brown, Senior, Copper Canyon - Helping the Aztecs pick up three consecutive wins last week over Westview, Alhambra and Shadow Ridge, Brown averaged 18.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2 assists per game as Copper Canyon looks to finish up its comeback season. 

Janae Byrd, Senior, Verrado - Not only posting a new career-high of 31 points on Monday in the 76-20 victory over Lake Havasu, Byrd also dropped an enormous triple-double with 10 assists and 18 steals to go with her six rebounds on the night. Despite the Vipers falling 55-43 to Millennium on Tuesday, Byrd’s dominance continued as she led the game in scoring with 21 points. She also had 10 steals, six rebounds and an assist in the game. 

Victoria Cazares, Junior, Pueblo -It was another strong week for Cazares, who averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 steals and an assist. On Monday, the Warriors dropped a tough one to Sahuaro, 50-38, before they were able to bounce back with a 44-39 win over Canyon del Oro on Friday. 

Kylee Callahan, Senior, Salpointe Catholic - The senior, who is somehow still flying under the radar of many college recruiters, wrapped up the final full week of the regular season with a bang. On Friday, she posted 27 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists to help the Lancers defeat Buena 74-33. On Saturday, she followed it up by becoming the newest member of the 1,000 career points club in Saturday’s 70-31 win over Sahuaro, where she posted 19 points along with eight assists, five rebounds and five steals. 

Mikela Cooper, Senior, Valley Vista - With a career-high 33 points on Thursday, Cooper shot an outstanding 88-percent from the field in Valley Vista’s 93-17 beatdown of Westview. In addition, she had five rebounds, an assist, two deflections and a steal.

Talia Dial, Senior, Dysart - Just behind her younger sister in scoring on Tuesday with 19 points in the 53-37 victory over Buckeye, Dial also had eight rebounds, five steals, three deflections, a block and an assist. 

Torah Dial, Sophomore, Dysart - Leading the Demons in scoring on Tuesday, Dial had 20 points on the night in Dysart’s 53-37 victory over Buckeye. Good for a double-double with 10 rebounds, she also had four steals and five deflections in the game. 

Sedona Dietrich, Sophomore, Pusch Ridge - Leading the game in scoring on Monday, Dietrich posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, along with three steals and an assist, to help Pusch Ridge pick up a 56-32 win over Walden Grove. 

Mackenzie Dunham, Junior, Sunrise Mountain - Exploding for not only a double-double but a career-high in scoring, Dunham had 28 points and 19 rebounds while shooting 67-percent from the field on Tuesday in the 72-34 victory over Ironwood. Additionally, she had three assists, two deflections, a steal and a block. 

Sara Enriquez, Freshman, Pueblo - Helping the Warriors edge the Canyon del Oro Dorados on Friday 44-39, Enriquez posted a new career-high of 26 points along with five steals and three rebounds to close out the week strong. 

Kelsey Ericksen, Senior, Shadow Ridge - In Tuesday’s 54-26 victory over Tolleson, Ericksen led the game nearly across the stat book, posting 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Ericksen recently became a member of the 1000 career points club last week on Thursday in the game against Copper Canyon. 

Sara Evans, Junior, Notre Dame Prep - Helping the Saints pick up a 43-34 victory over St. Mary’s on Wednesday, Evans posted 18 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, along with seven steals and an assist. 

Anneliese Felix, Senior, Sunnyside - With a career-high 24 points on Monday in the 85-27 victory over Baboquivari, Felix made it a double-double with 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals to round out her performance. 

Victoria Garcia, Senior, Centennial -Exploding to a career-best performance on Wednesday in Centennial’s 54-31 win over Kellis, Garcia posted all 18 points on shots from behind the arc, where she shot 75-percent on the night. Additionally, she had six steals, five rebounds and three assists to help pick up the road win. 

Elli Guiney, Sophomore, Millennium - Shooting 73-percent from the field, Guiney led the game in scoring on Monday with 24 points in the 60-15 victory over Agua Fria. Good for a double-double, Guiney also crashed the boards for 14 rebounds, four assists, three deflections, a block and a steal. She followed it up on Thursday with 32 points, four rebounds and four assists for another lights-out performance despite a 71-63 loss to fellow conference powerhouse Sunrise Mountain. 

Clara Hrouch, Freshman, Catalina Foothills -Notching a new career-high of 35 points on Saturday in the 67-53 victory over Nogales, Hrouch rounded out what was an amazing week for herself. Despite the loss on Monday to Flowing Wells, Hrouch had 18 points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal. On Tuesday, she posted 26 points, six steals, two assists and a rebound in the 57-29 pounding of Marana before closing things out over the weekend. 

Ashiian Hunter, Junior, Mesa - Posting a double-double on Tuesday with 27 points and 10 rebounds, Hunter also had four assists, a rebound and a block to help the Jackrabbits pounce on a 56-27 victory over Skyline. 

Jennah Isai, Senior, Valley Vista - After taking a few weeks off from the action, Isai made her return on Tuesday in Valley Vista’s 98-18 victory over Sunnyslope, where she posted 31 points, six steals, five rebounds, two assists and a block. After officially inking her LOI to the Oregon Ducks last week on Wednesday, she continued by posting 30 points, nine steals, five assists and a rebound in the 93-17 pounding of Westview. 

Michaela Lee, Junior, Deer Valley - Lee opened the week by dropping a triple-double in the 67-49 victory over Peoria, posting 18 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks on the night in addition to a deflection and an assist. 

Navine Mallon, Junior, Flowing Wells - Kicking things into gear this week, Mallon started off by posting 22 points, six rebounds, five steals, three assists and a block in the 79-65 victory over Catalina Foothills. On Tuesday, she had a relatively quiet night before posting a double-double on Thursday with 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal to help the Caballeros claim the Sonoran Region title with a 57-46 win over Sunnyside. 

Sarah Miller, Sophomore, Xavier College Prep - Xavier played Perry back-to-back days to open the week, but Tuesday was the night Miller really came to life. Shooting an outstanding 79-percent from the field, Miller dropped 30 points to lead the game in scoring along with five deflections, four rebounds, two seals and an assist to help the Gators grab a 61-27 win. 

Sophia Munoz, Senior, Ironwood Ridge - Shooting 69-percent from the field, Munoz posted 20 points along with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals to help Ironwood Ridge pick up an easy 81-45 victory over Canyon del Oro on Tuesday. 

Dominique Nesland, Sophomore, Xavier College Prep - While Nesland was one of three Gators who posted 14 points on Thursday in the 60-38 victory over Tucson, Nesland had the highest field goal percentage on the night at 67. Additionally, she was dishing the ball over to her teammates all night long with nine assists, four rebounds and four steals. 

Aiyanna Perkins, Freshman, McClintock -In a tough loss to Cactus Shadows on Friday, Perkins left it all on the court in her performance by dropping 28 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal in the 60-58 heartbreaker. 

Tianna Reeder, Senior, Estrella Foothills - Leading Thursday’s game against Buckeye in scoring with 23 points, she also had six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a deflection to help the Wolves defeat their conference opponents 66-34 on the road. 

Alondra Reyes, Freshman, St. Mary’s - The big makes her return to the list this week for her double-double in Tuesday’s 55-49 victory over Tempe. With 15 points and 16 rebounds, Reyes was dominating inside while also snagging seven steals on the night and picking up two blocks. 

Galilea Rivero, Senior, Deer Valley - Opening up the week with a double-double, Rivero had 18 points and 14 rebounds to help the Skyhawks soar to a 67-49 victory over Peoria on Monday. In addition, she had four assists, three deflections and two steals on the night. She kept things going on Thursday on senior night, where she helped the Skyhawks pick up yet another statement win by defeating Flagstaff 59-49. She posted a double-double in the game, with 15 points and 14 rebounds, along with seven steals, two deflections and an assist. 

Autumn Rodriguez, Junior, Chandler - Helping the Wolves pick up a conference win over Basha on Thursday, Rodriguez had 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Rodriguez was also 6 for 6 from the line, putting a bow on a nice performance.

Macy Rojas, Senior, Centennial - With one of her season-best performances on Wednesday, Rojas helped Centennial pick up a 54-31 road win over the Kellis Cougars. Posting 20 points, 18 of them came from behind the arc, along with nine rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.

Jayla Scott, Senior, Vista Grande - Powering her way to another big triple-double on Tuesday, Scott posted 28 points, 23 rebounds and 10 steals, next to two blocks and two assists, to help Vista Grande pick up a 56-27 conference road win over Coronado. 

Taylar Shoup, Senior, Rincon/University - With a season-best performance on Thursday, Shoup helped the Rangers pick up a 71-55 win over Maricopa by posting 24 points, five rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Mia Singstock, Sophomore, Pinnacle - Singstock came up big when the Pioneers needed her most on Thursday, where she posted 18 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists to help pick up a 46-43 win over O’Connor.

Kiley Sours-Miller, Junior, Greenway - Helping the Demons smoke their rivals at Moon Valley, Sours-Miller led the game in scoring on Tuesday with 20 points, singlehandedly putting up more than the entire Rockets squad combined in the 56-17 win. Making it a double-double with 10 rebounds, she also had four assists, four steals and three blocks to round out her night. 

Samantha Thomas, Senior, Peoria - In a close battle against Notre Dame Prep on Friday, Thomas posted 30 points, five rebounds and two steals to help the Panthers edge the Saints 60-58.

Nakyah Williams, Sophomore, Paradise Honors - Returning to the list this week is Williams, who led Tuesday’s game against Estrella Foothills in scoring with 25 points. She also had nine rebounds, seven assists, six steals and a deflection to help the Panthers pick up a 58-44 win.

Addison Sandusky, Senior, Paradise Honors - Helping Paradise Honors lock in the Southwest Region with a win over Estrella Foothills, Sandusky posted 19 points on the night, 15 of them coming from behind the arc.
