The SBLive Arkansas Super 7 baseball rankings for April 18-25

The cream is rising to the top in each classification. We have big series statewide this week with Rogers and Bentonville doing battle in Class 6A, Valley View and Brookland in Class 4A and Harding Academy against Rose Bud in Class 3A. McCrory has established itself as a favorite in 2A after a convincing win over Carlisle. 

SBLive Class 6A Super 7  

1. Springdale Har-Ber 18-4

2. Rogers 16-3

3. Bentonville 15-6

4. Conway 12-6

5. Cabot 12-5

6. LR Catholic 13-5

7. FS Southside 14-8

Analysis: Cabot and Conway are tied atop the 6A-Central after winning their sixth game in a row. Har-Ber is on an 8-game win streak and sits at 17-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play while Rogers is 16-3 and 8-0, respectively. Fayetteville split their doubleheader with Bentonville this week and is playing inspired baseball in the past two weeks. Kudos go out to FS Northside as thy swept their season series with Bryant for the first time in school history.

SBLive Class 5A Super 7  

1. Van Buren 17-4

2. Jonesboro 17-5-1

3. Benton 16-3

4. El Dorado 18-3

5. Greenbrier 11-6

6. Greene County Tech 15-3

7. Little Rock Christian 15-5

Analysis: Benton dropped a 2-1 decision to a red hot Brookland team but still sit atop the 5A-Central. Little Rock Christian and Sylan Hills are on their heels at 7-1 and 5-1. Batesville took down Greene County Tech in game one but dropped game two 16-8. Jonesboro has won 7 in a row and is now tied with Marion at 7-1 in the 5A-East. El Dorado beat Sheridan 4-0 and Lake Hamilton 6-0 last week and in control of the 5A South. Texarkana’s Ty Waid had a complete game one hitter against White Hall and hit his 7th homerun of the season. Van Buren went 3-0 this week and Greenbrier’s Jordan Huskey threw a complete game one-hitter where he collected 10 strikeouts.

SBLive Class 4A Super 7  

1. Valley View 17-3

2. Lonoke 19-3

3. Brookland 16-5

4. Huntsville 18-4

5. Morrilton 14-1

6. Arkadelphia 9-4

7. Camden Fairview 12-7

Analysis: Huntsville had its 17-game win streak ended by conference foe Harrison on Friday. Shiloh Christian and Farmington are also on fire. As of this publication, there is a three-way tie atop the 1-4A standings between Harrison, Huntsville and Farmington. Brookland swept Pocahontas and defeated 5A Benton 2-1. Jonesboro beat Valley View 12-5 in midweek action. Arkadelphia is still unbeaten in conference play. Camden Fairview has a 7-game win streak and is 8-2 in conference play. Star City is playing well of late sitting at 7-3 in conference and 14-5 overall.

SBLive Class 3A Super 7  

1. Harding Academy 19-3

2. Camden Harmony Grove 20-2-1

3. Walnut Ridge 14-3

4. Ashdown 16-4

5. Rose Bud 15-4

6. Rivercrest 13-4

7. Paris 11-3

Analysis: Elkins swept Lincoln to take over 2nd place behind Bergman in 1-3A play. Harding and Rose Bud will do battle next week. Walnut Ridge and Rivercrest split their doubleheader, leaving the Bobcats atop the 3-3A Conference. Hackett took down previously unbeaten Paris. Booneville has a 7-game win streak, beat Danville and is perfect so far in April. Baptist Prep defeated Lamar on the road Friday and is the leader in the 5-3A. Ashdown thumped Genoa Central 13-5 last Monday then lost to Prescott on Friday. Camden Harmony Grove is the first team in the state to reach 20 wins after beating Lakeside and Drew Central this week. Bradley Launius hit his 6th home run of the year against Drew Central.

SBLive Class 2A Super 7  

1. Woodlawn 18-5

2. McCrory 16-4-1

3. Murfreesboro 15-4

4. Horatio 17-5-1

5. Melbourne 12-4

6. Buffalo Island Central 11-2

7. Carlisle 14-7

Analysis: The much-anticipated matchup in the 6-2A turned into a coronation ceremony for McCrory as they defeated Carlisle 16-2 on Thursday to capture the conference title. Everything else went according to script this past week as every ranked team won the games they were predicted to win.

SBLive Class 1A Super 7  

1. West Side Greers Ferry 11-4

2. Norfork 15-3

3. Izard County 14-4

4. Taylor 10-4-2

5. Ouachita 14-7

6. Mount Ida 11-3

7. Marked Tree 8-6

Analysis: Westside upended Izard County and now sits atop the conference standings. Norfork has won 12 in a row and has no intention of slowing down. Hillcrest gave Marked Tree their first conference loss on the year.
