U.S. Olympic men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has been a driving reason behind the team's success on the world stage because of how he's encouraged players to embrace their egos, according to USA Basketball Director Sean Ford.

Ford joined the latest episode of The Iso podcast with Dan Dickau, which published Friday, and outlined COVID-19's impact on international basketball, how to build an Olympic team, the contributions of the late Kobe Bryant and why Coach K helped make the U.S. Olympic teams great.

"He said 'no, we want your ego, we need your ego. Your ego is what makes you great, but it just has to be an appropriate ego,' " Ford told Dickau about Duke's legendary head coach.

The Iso with Dan Dickau is a podcast presented by SBLive Sports and the Bleav Podcast Network, which publishes weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Dickau, a former Gonzaga All-American, NBA vet-turned basketball analyst interviews experts all corners of the sports world from coaches, front office executives to athletes about untold stories, memories and experiences.
