With the victory Tupelo secures a first-round bye in the 6A playoffs and will host the winner of Horn Lake vs. Murrah in the second round on Saturday, Feb. 19.
TUPELO, Miss. - Dayveun Anderson scored 15 points - including eight in the fourth quarter - to lead No. 2 Tupelo to a 67-57 win over No. 1 Starkville in the Class 6A Region 1 Tournament championship on Friday night.
With the victory Tupelo secures a first-round bye in the 6A playoffs and will host the winner of Horn Lake vs. Murrah in the second round on Saturday, Feb. 19.
Starkville will host DeSoto Central in the first round of the 6A playoffs on Tuesday.
Starkville's Makai Myles led all scorers 24 points and Conner Rogers added 19.
